I know thyroid cancer is not as aggressive as others but it really makes me wonder how people can say that? I am grateful it was contained in my thyroid and I am awaiting treatment after having surgery 5 weeks ago. The waiting is the hardest part for me. And then to have someone brush it off as ONLY thyroid cancer just is not right. I'm usually a very active person and I find myself ... Read More

Hi all. My surgery for tt and neck dissection is on November 1st. I have been sick for two weeks now (I think with 2 separate illness) and I'm worried that this will affect my surgery. Can surgery be postponed due to having a cold? I first became ill the day after I had 2 fna's (the day of my diagnosis)--my throat became sore and the tonsil swelled on the side where the biopsy was ... Read More

So before Thyrogen (last month), my TSH was <0.1 and thyroglobulin undetectable. I've been on LID for three weeks. Stopped Levo Sunday. Thyrogen shots Monday and Tuesday. RAI Wednesday. Blood tests Friday (today). TSH 16.3 !! Isn't 16.3 a little low considering I just had Thyrogen? Is it enough to actually stimulate RAI uptake? Since I had really good margins in surgery with no lymph ... Read More

Dear members, I’m writing to let you know about a new feature for the Inspire community that I hope will improve your experience here. Soon you will begin seeing a pink bar at the bottom of each page that expands into a question. For example, you might see: “Do you care for a sick, elderly, or disabled family member or loved one?” These questions help create your Health Profile, which ... Read More

It's time for my annual, one year post TT checkup and lo and behold, I'm having new problems. I know some of these have occurred for others sooner than this post TT, but I'm stuck in the middle of new tests and PCP involvement to see what is going on. About a month ago, I started having problems eating...first nausea and just skipped meals till I thought I could eat again. Then bowel ... Read More

recurrence in 1b level node possible??

Ok so tg went from undetectable to detectable (but low).... doc ordered neck ultrasound. Ultrasound showed enlarged lymph node 2.2. X 1.0 x 0.8 cm in size. No comments on features - good or bad. Just measurements and the note that this was in 1b area (submandibular). Is this a likely suspect in the detectable TG? I didn't think thyca would go to 1b lymphs without showing up in more ... By Radha_Inspire Digital Editor, Inspire Over the course of 11 intense and difficult months, Renata Louwers’s husband Ahmad was diagnosed with and died from metastatic bladder cancer. The question Louwers kept asking herself then and afterwards was why no one was talking about the experience of dying from cancer? “I think it’s a crisis in this country,” she told Inspire. In a recent ... Read More

Hi, I was wondering if there is anyone who DID NOT have to do RAI after TT, with positive for Papillary? (Was positive in one lobe nodule and 2 positive lymphnodes on the same side). Any insight is appreciated as I am given an option and was wondering if anyone was okay without RAI, despite being positive. Thanks a lot ... Read More

Hi everyone, anyone... I have so many questions. I was told I have papillary thyroid cancer. I had a total thyroidectomy, it had spread to lymph nodes nearby. I was on Cytomel only. Now I've been off the Cytomel for nearly a week. My RAI of 150mci is in a week and a half followed by my first full body scan a week after rai. Should I be seeing an oncologist or is endocrinologist enough ... Read More
