Hi all, Just after some opinions from people who have either had a similar issue or know someone who has. A side note, I have health anxiety and the reason I had a thyroid ultrasound in the first place was because I had a feeling of a lump in my throat for about a month prior (higher up than the thyroid and only on the right side of my throat). A thyroid ultrasound that I had recently ... Read More

Just curious how long do you wait till you have that first cup of coffee after taking Synthroid? Waiting an hour is killing me. I drink my coffee black if that matters. Had a TT on the first of this month so I am still adjusting. Also my TSH level is at .22 and my endro seems happy with that. From my reading it seems it should be lower to prevent reoccurance but it is all very confusing ... Read More

I'll have my RAI in two days and want to prepare my home for radioactive "contamination". Is it necessary to clear out a separate bedroom of décor, unnecessary pillows, flower arrangements, pictures, etc., and especially my mattress pillow top (which is not washable)? I will use a plastic mattress cover over the pillow top. Should I plan on wearing one/two pair of pajamas for the entire ... Read More

Has anyone had surgery to remove an upper paratracheal lymph node? The node lit up on a recent RAI treatment. My TG is still high at 32. it was 85 prior to the RAI treatment. The lymph node is small (6mm). My ONCO wants to watch and wait to see if it remains stable ... Read More

So I had an FNA quite a few months back now and it was determined to be a follicular lesion and that I could either wait and watch it or get a lobectomy. I have an appt with a surgeon in early October to discuss the procedure, but I'm sort of stuck in the middle at the moment.. I know that I'd rather know what it is and to remove it, but at the same my thyroid seems to work perfectly ... Read More

I had Papillary Carcinoma Thyroid Cancer August 2015. Had my thyroid taken out. Also had 3 lymph nodes removed. Treatment with RAI. Had my one year scan and blood work this week. Was told I did not need further treatment. I assume this means the scan was good. I received the blood results online and the scan results. My Thyroglobulin AB test was 2589 [IU]/mL!!! It says the high value ... Read More

Hey everyone, I had a TT July 14 this year. I knew there could be little issues after surgery and knew things would take a little but to get to a good normal for me. BUT..I had no idea it would be like this. It isn't horrible, I have read stories that make me feel like a big baby! I ended up with Hypocalcemia and Hypomagnesia. (Sorry on spelling) Now it looks like I may be dx with ... Read More

I am in full time ministry, I sing and speak and encourage... and here I am almost 3 months post TT for thyroid cancer, and I still can't sing my parts. My surgeon said he took special care and my vocal nerves were not damaged. But I did develop a soroma under my vocal box and I have a swollen reactive lymph node. The swelling in both of those areas are down .. yet my speaking voice ... Read More
