Brother Diagnosed - No Relief

My brother was diagnosed with sarcoidosis earlier this year. He had lung surgery earlier this year, and a few months later, he was back in the hospital with a collapsed lung. He is being treated with steroids, but no relief. His face and stomach are both extremely bloated. He continues to have breathing issues and stomach pains. I am really concerned since he is not a complainer. Can anyone recommend a doctor in the Chicagoland area or anything that has proven worthy for some pain relief? Thank you!

Hi ABo,

I think your brother can find help at the Univ of Chicago medical. I suggest you type this into the red 'find it' field at the top of this page and see what comes up. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn is also good with sarc, as is the Cleveland Clinic, but your best bet would be Chicago.

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
