My doctor took the NGT out of my throat last week. My throat closed up immediately. Still can't swallow and now I can feel that I can no longer breath through my mouth as well which means more trach dependent. My voice as usual is still weak. The doctor explained one of the options to repair the esophagus. Sounded so scary on complicated. They take a skin graft from your wrist along with some vessels and construct the portion of the esophagus and attach it. Also take skin graft from leg to repair wrist. It is a 8 hour surgery and has lots of risk. Just do not know what to do. Has anyone had this surgery?
