Fight against cancer & Never give up easily!

0 Recommendations

My beloved aunt was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer stage IV few weeks ago and of course we were really upset, depressed and shocked as well because we never expect her to have such disease as she is a non-smoker, non-drinker and also she is very healthy and strong for all this while. We consulted about 5 oncologists and each of them provided more or less the same drugs for chemo and in fact she will begins her chemo tomorrow. All of us were praying really hard for her and hope that after her chemo, it can stops the cancer cells from spreading to the other parts of her organs. We were really worried for her but in the meantime, we must stay strong so that we can give her moral support regularly and take good care of her. I hope all of you who are reading this, please pray hard for all the cancer patient. And bear in mind that we should not give up easily as there is always hope even in the darkness. Best of luck everyone!

I am so sorry to hear about your Aunt, but as you will be hearing there are so many people on this site who are also stage IV and have continued to beat the statistics. First thing anyone told me was do not pay any attention to the statitics -- and that is good advice. None of us are a statistic. I will keep your aunt and your family in my prayers for great results from her chemo. I am sure you will soon be hearing from many others on here who know much more than I - they are such an inspiration. Alice.

Wavesx,
This is a truly inspirational site...when you feel alone, just check out the site. There are many of us in the same boat. My 42 yo, healthy, nonsmoking husband was diagnosed 5/22/09 with stage IV lung adenocarcinoma. He has mets to pleura, lymph nodes and bone. The folks on this site have given me hope. Please do not surf the net, the statistics are so discouraging. What chemo is your aunt going to get? My husband gets carboplatin, alimta and avastin. He has only gotten 2 rounds. Your family is in my prayers!
Take care and keep in touch!

I think that your aunt has so much emotional support for this journey she is going on, she is going to do just fine. I wish I had the love and respect that is so clearly evident in your sentences. This aunt of yours is some special lady, is she not? She will have the treatments and be cared so lovingly by you and your family. I will say some prayers for her, and for you to help you cope in the coming months. This is a great place to sit and read and vent your feelings. so glad you have joined us and look forward to hearing more from you and how your aunt is doing. God bless you and yours.
Sandy

See if it is possible for your Aunt to be tested for mutations. As a non-smoker, there is a higher likelihood that she possesses EGFR, K-RAS or ALK mutations, and there are targeted therapies available for these now. Best of luck, Linnea

Aloha,

I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma Stage IV, four
years ago in May. There is always hope around each corner. Keep a good positive look out. This site is the best ! My prayers are for your Aunt and all you carepeople that are so important in our lives.

God Bless,
Leilani

Praying for you and your aunt, stay strong so you can give her all the support she needs, and come here anytime you have a question and we will try and help, at least we can offer support with prayer, Karen

Hi everybody!
Thanks so much for your concern & support...
I don't know if ABM Agaricus powder is good for cancer patient like my aunt? Because we are thinking that if she undergoes chemo, she will be suffering a lot. Instead, we consulted a traditional chinese medical doctor and he recommended my aunt to take ABM Agaricus powder. We were really confused because if she undergoes chemo, chemo will kills all of our body cells includes the good ones. Because she is already in Stage IV- Adenocarcinoma and it has already spread to the bones. Please give me some ideas 'bout it. Thanks again!

Leilani,
Thanks for the inspiration. My husband was diagnosed 5/22/09 with stage IV lung adenocarcinoma and it is encouraging to us to hear of someone doing as well as you are . Any advice or words of wisdom for us?
Tracey

Aloha Tracey,

I can tell you the first 6 months are going to be the hardest. But you and your Husband have to try to be a team and be positive. There are more and newer treatments out there every year, and the important thing to remember is every new day is a good day!
Some days are harder than other's but having a great careperson is so important. The Love and support , you give, means an awful lot!
I keep surprising my Doctor. He told me I had 6 months to live, and I'm at 4 years, and 2 months since he said that. One day at a time.......
Being positive and having a wonderful careperson has helped me!
I know your Husband can do it also!
God Bless you both .

Aloha Nui,
Leilani
