Thinks it might be to hard to operate, going to surgeon next week to find out, if not looks like radation and more chemo. Chemo for bowel cancer. In the meantime the chemo does nothing for all the other cancer i have. Anyone has any ideas,or has anyone had the same. doc reckons unusal to bowel cancer when i have ovarian cancer. getting desperate for some answers. very scared. have 3 gorgeous girls, youngest 8 and want to see them grow up.

Hi Vicki40,

Is your ovca active or in remission for 7 yrs.? It's probably non-ovarian related if you're in remission that long. What did your doctor say about that?

I can't answer your questions, but possibly you can get more info on Inspire/bowel cancer page or someone with bowel c. . Since I can't offer any advice, let me at least offer you some support and a shoulder to lean on. Please write to me if just want to talk or need to a place to vent. I'll listen to you.

I have had 5 major abdominal surgeries, 6 and half year survivor and mine is in my bowels too. I was even threatened with getting a colostomy and an iliostomy. Never give up. The doctors may seem to give up on you and I know exactly what that is like. That's when you have to slap some reality into them by telling them how much of a fighter you are and that you need a new battle plan. There really are tons of drugs out there to try and it's too soon to just give up. I hope you don't; keep on living in the now. I'm here if you need to talk or if you would like to check out my blog on what I have faced. I thought I was going to be a gonner many times over, but I refuse to give up.

Among some women, there does seem to be a link between ovarian cancer and colon cancer.

I am so sorry you have this to deal with. I have some idea how scared you must be.

I hope the proposed regimen will knock that cancer on its butt. You sure have lots of reasons to keep fighting.

All good wishes to you.

This may sound like quackery, but there is nothing to lose. There's an Italian oncologist named Simoncini who claims to have cured cancer with baking soda. It doesn't work for ovarian cancer unless you put it in the abdominal cavity. But for bowel cancer, especially the colon, a daily baking soda retention enema might turn the corner for you. I would also do chemo. The drug usually used for bowel cancer is 5FU and it is not as toxic as the stuff for OV CA. You could look up Dr. Simoncini on Google and read his protocol. Also with as many chemos as you've had, your immune system is probably very weak. I would seek out a naturopath or herbalist to give you supplements to boost your immunity. Thank you for giving me hope. I"ve been fighting stage IV cancer for 19 months, and have pretty much exhaused all my options. My cancer is resistant to just about everything. The worst part is the fear, especially the night terrors. I'll be praying for God to grant you His peace as well as healing.

Hi Quacker and Vicki
I have ovarian cancer stage 4 and am a 15 month survivor. I have had taxolbicarbonate and now on doxil. My oncologist tells me that if the doxil does not work there are other options. It seems like chemo for some of us is never ending. I have met alady who has been on chemo for 10 years
