How to diagnose sarcodisis by bronchoscopy

When my husband was diagnosed with sarcoidosis he was also diagnosed by bronchoscopy via tissue samples. He was also asymptomatic for many, many years. Many sarc people never know they have it and it often stays quiet for many years.

I was in the hospital for a stomach problem and they did an x-ray and found my masses in my lungs. I had to have a lung biopsy. They confirmed sarc. I don't have any symptoms except dry eyes and arthritis symptoms. I take 4 tablespoons of elderberry concentrate for the inflammed/dry eyes and I take 3 capsules of curcumin for the arthritis pain and I am on an anti-inflammatory diet. Sarc is a strange disease--you can blame all the symptoms of it on something else. Good luck.

I started getting a pain in my stomach back the end of jan. The only problem i was having was my astham was getting worse. My dr thought it was just the acid reflex acting up so went to the dr about that. He did not think it was just that ordered a ct of my stomach, then did the scope down into the stomach and got a biopsy. Then found out it is in the liver, stomach, lungs and throat. I did not really have any symptoms at all. My lung dr told me that it can be in the body for years and years before you even know it. She also said that you can take meds for it and never have a problem again. i just finished the meds , but i am still having trouble breathing

The problem with sarc is that you might not have symptoms for a long time while it is setting itself up to kill you. Then all of a sudden you feel it and you get diagnosed and it is everywhere. You are lucky to get it found early enough to get meds to stop it so go and get them now!!!!! Don't let the monster get a head start. You can keep it in your lungs only not your heart or brains. You can survive this. Get a second opinion after you start taking your meds whatever your doc gives you but be a smart sarkie and take some. I am sorry you belong to our exclusive club we are dying to quit, some of us literally are dying to quit, so take the meds and you can maybe quit and live.

I too am a NEW diagnosis via Bronch... I have SPLEEN, LIVER, LYMPHNODE, LUNGS and HEART involvement and thought I had no symptoms.... OK, so I was sometimes short of breath, had some left arm pain, had a fall in DEC08 and thought that I pulled some muscles.
WELL, as my PULM tells me - these are ALL symptoms of Sarc. It has finally been diagnosed. So, now I am taking a LONG look VERY HARD at my life to find the symptoms, maybe I will even find the triggers?? Look at your family history. My dad had a "node" removed in 1963 and his kid sister (at 13) had TB the same year he had the node removed.... it was Sarc, but he did not get treatment... there was none. Today they both have MAJOR health issues.
Take your time, learn, read everything you can find, listen to what the others on this site post. And most of all learn about and know your own body!!! Be proactive and seek answers.

Today I meet my dr she said that I don't need any medicine because I don't have any symptoms. She give me some information about sarks( some printout)
and said come after one year to pft test and blood testing.

Is there is any medicine for precaution so that its not involve my other organs and remain only in my lungs.

DO I NEED ANOTHER OPINION?????

You need another opinion because it is active and you need to get rid of it. You need a specialist that deals with sarc and there are places that do just that. Ozalean has a specific place with an 800 number that you can call for info just give him a shout. I have no idea where you are so you might win the lottery and be close by to this place. Gene

Well the good news is that u don't have no big major symptoms besides chest pain every now and then,but then again that alone can be painful! I wish that was the case with me! Also as strange as it may sound or appear to u no one can explain when or how long a person had sarcoidosis in their body or when actually being exposed to the disease! I have it on my skin and in my lungs and the syptoms I get, I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy! So good luck and research Sarcoidosis on line whenever u can to get as much info as u can! I went to the doc for upper abdominal pain and had a CT of the chest and it came back looking like an lung infection. My doc asked a pulmonologist to look at the CT and I was told it was sarcoid. So, they did another CT 3 months later then a bronch when it was unchanged a week later and told me it was definitely sarcoidosis. Like you I had no idea I had it and have probably had it for years. I have a few symptoms(which I had thought were age related stuff) and was recently on prednisone but had to be weaned off it because I was having to many side effects. I was just as surprised as you were because I'm relatively healthy and take good care of myself but as we know autoimmune diseases happen even to the healthiest of people.

I'm still debating on starting treatment again. I feel fine but I'm going to wait a week or two and see if my coughing starts up again and go from there.
