i have stage 3 fatty liver and was told it is hereditary i have four other siblings and none of them are sick don't know why.

I have stage 3 liver disease also with NASH.

I have stage 4 fatty liver ,NASH and now Cirrhosis.
Yes it is sometimes hereditary, It may have been further back in your family history than the current generation. They are just now studying the effects of fatty liver so many of your family members may not have known that they had it.
Also my Dr. told me that it was more the tendency to develop liver problems that they look at, Not just the specific disease. Do you have diabetes especially insulin resistance. High triglycerides? Weight gain or have taking any meds that effect the liver can also make a difference.
