Today is July 3rd,,,,,,,,,,,

2 years ago today my husband was disgnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer,,I didn't think today would be a different day,but much to my surprise it is,,,,
As I sat here on the computer he announced he had to run to get gas for the lawnmower,,,gee,,he was gone quite awhile,,he returned with 2 full cans of gas,
then walked in the room and gave me a bouquet of flowers,,and a singing card,,,I think the verse is important when being through such a struggle..
so I will share it with others........
so here it is....

If there were nothing else
but our love for each other....
we would still have all we need.....
So see caregivers,,,,they never forget us!!!!

the best thing is,,,we have 22 months cancer
free,,,,no bladder,, a bag,,
and lots of love to sustain us...

Ginger,

I know exactly how you feel. Whenever July comes around and we have another rebirthday celebration, I am oh so happy...but, I am also sad when I remember all we had to struggle through. I thank God each and everyday for carrying us in His Hand during the transplant process. And, Gene thanked you today--how wonderful!

Lynda

Ginger, Gene is one lucky man, and you are one lucky lady, and to to have each other, well thats just a gift from God. Wishing you both the best.

Kyle

A super story from a super couple I wish you and Gene the best Ginger. I also must admit without my wife Lorrie I would be one lost sheep. Love you guys, Joe

Love your story! My husband was diagnosed with inoperable deep leg thrombosis and was told to expect 5 to 10 years of life at the most. It's now 17 years later, he's still doing very well, and the blessings we have are huge and would never have been possible if this hadn't happened. :)

That is just so romantic. Thanks for sharing Ginger.
And here I just thought that Gene was a TV Star.
You are so lucky to have each other, as I am to have Debbie.
All the best,
Jack

What a wonderful day for you. We all owe so much to our caregivers and loved ones.

JJ

Ginger, if you beat Gene at golf, does he still bring you flowers and cards?

Ginger, I know exactly how you felt. Isn't is great to go through this journey we call life with your Best Friend? Congratulations to both you and Gene.

Aww....You are both lucky to have each other. Thanks for sharing your special story. I wish you many many more happy cancer free years!!
Yvonne

you go gene !!!! :-)

How sweet!! Big hugs to both of you. Thanks so much for not running off into the sunset but staying here and helping others through their journeys with BC and RC.

You two were on my mind today as I went with my husband to deliver rocks up to the Rock Pile in Avon. I am doing much better since the last time you called. 8 weeks post RC and I am out riding in a dump truck! It was a little rough but it was nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

Take care,
Tammy

Cancer sometimes brings out the best in us. Or should I say that adversity brings out the best in us?

Now Ginger, please, tell us, or Gene, tell us, what is the gasoline for? Two cans? Oh, I get it, a fourth of July celebration right!. Or maybe the big bang theory revisited?

Anyway, you guys are so sweet. I love to send Lizzie roses for no reason at all.

I have to say though, that I feel really bad, sometimes guilty, that Lizzie has to do so much work. I met with my neurologist today and will not be cleared to drive for about another year. And a few hours after leaving his office I had more seizures. So I guess I can forget about driving for a while. So Lizzie has to do lots more. that's the part I don;t like. So , well, never mind all that, you guys are really cool and thanks Ginger and Gene.

this is a beautiful story... Thank you for sharing it.
God Bless You and your husband!
peace,
Carla

Tamlin, the next time you go to the rock pile in a dump truck let me know, you can stop in ,we are just 10 minutes from there.....I am glad your doing better,,,

Take care
Ginger

Ah Tamlin, you wouldn't mind bringing me a load of rocks in Texas would you? I mean, it really is the only right thing to do!

Jack,
We went golfing today, with another couple who have been our friends for 25 years,,,
Gene was a bit off,and we girls won 6 holes out of 9,,,,,,I had a 44,,,not so bad,,,,hope the flowers keep comin,,,I have to say I didn't expect this today,so it shows he thinks about it more than I know sometimes,,as I am sure all of you do that experience it first hand....hats off to you,,,,I wish everyone could have a special person with them when going through b/c........Ginger
