Today was my first good day in a long time!

Hope everybody is having an awesome weekend! Mike and I had a super duper awesome day! Today is my first day cord free in over 2 months. (Not being hooked up to IV nutrition!) So we decided to celebrate all weekend! We went to see Batman last night. Today we went to see the progress of our new house and went to the Reston Zoo. It was a blast and we got to play with and feed a bunch of different animals! Later this afternoon we stopped by the community pool. I can't swim yet, but we laid out for a while and I got wet up to my waist. It was the first time I have been to the pool in two years! I was so excited! Anyway, things are beginning to lookup a bit (finally!) At least on the weekends when my nurse disconnects me! =P Hope ya'll have a super weekend too!

I am so happy for you that you are having a good weekend! I hope you can continue to have these breaks from your IV and get out and enjoy yourself a little bit. It helps a lot.

Thanks Kate! It was nice to finally have something happy to share! I hope that everybody else who has something nice happen is willing to share it as well--it does the spirit good! =P

I am also happy that you got to get out and enjoy life this weekend. I am on TPN as well but I do mine 12 hours a day in the evenings from 8 pm to 8 am. So I know how it limits my freedom to do alot of things. I can just imagine how you must feel being on it all the time. I am so glad that you got to get in the water. I don't know if you know this but I bought a picc line cover that is rubber and it deflates to keep the water out so you can go to the beach and get in the water and get your arm wet without worrying to much about getting your arm wet. It has been a godsend for me in the shower and bath.

I hope that you get many more days of fun and freedom. Your right it does the spirit good!!!

Congratulations on the"cord free day, " I am so glad that you and your husband go to actually go out and enjoy some time together. I am happy you have had a good few days, you deserve it. I hope it continues!
