Living with allergies to just about everything

0 Recommendations

I have had allergies since I was 7 years old, which created bronchitis/COPD, I found out what I was allergic to:
trees, grasses, mold, mildew, cat, dog, cockroach, wheat. milk, pollens. And new bed bug bites.
Medications: Zyban and Synalgos.
If I am not itching I am coughing and sneezing and watering.

When my daughter was told she had severe allergies, The doc said just get rid of things that affect her, trees, grass, dirt, not possible, but I did make her take a shower when she had been outside, close windows on windy days and such, she was even allergic to corn and corn products, we sure learned how to get healthy faster,(didnt last long for me) but by doing that she is almost allergy free, no meds for 5 years. by doing all that her ammune system built up resistens, she was sick alot throughout them years. Air cleaners will help alot, expensive but was well worth it. Also found out she now has an environmental allergy, anything to effect her and it does,Cant change shampoo or laundry soap at all,, sucks using very cheap kind of soap, but if it helps its worth it. Hope some of this helps.

Freeze-dried nettles helps my husband's spring (grass) allergies. You need to be consistent and take them every morning and night.

Also, curcumin, which is turmeric is very anti-inflammatory. I cook with loads of it in curries and just about everything we eat is yellow. :) You can also get it in liquid extract which is convenient but expensive and also in concentrated tablets. Again, you have to take every day.

These things may not work in your situation or they might work for a time and then not. Allergies do that. But by all means, look at possible dietary triggers (the usual are milk and gluten). Try not eating those things (one at a time) for two to three weeks and then eat a bunch at one sitting and see if it triggers allergies. As long as that is safe for you to do, of course.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I could not take drugs so I eliminated the foods that made me sick,ie: Barley, Rye, Oats, Wheat, Spelt, Whey from dairy products. I found a protein powder that I eat with my Quinoa muffins every morning. I feel must better. Also, I choose organic foods. Taking pesticides and hormones out of my foods help as well.

l
raw organic sauerkraut - very healing to colon
avoid allergenic foods
avoid foods related to your allergenic foods (google for good lists)
no processed foods w/allergens
SUPPLEMENTS:
omega 3 via fish oil
GLA
cod liver oil

Probiotics - start slowly and build 2 caps/3x day for a while to restore colon
extra virgin coconut oil
turmeric - Colon PF by Jarrow is a good product
New Chapter also has Stress Advantage and inflammation products...
Anti-oxidants such as E, beta carotene, (lots of good products on the market: Jarrow brand has good ones
Eat sprouts: mung bean, sunflower (hi in E, protein, minerals), clover, broccoli, etc - they are easier to digest and contain tons more of nutrients than the seeds and legumes. also much less allergenic (but you may still experience allergic rxn, try it)
Eat lots of lettuces: romaine (super hi in A, etc)
Eat lots of leafy greens
Get lots of hi quality protein - immune system/colon need it to regrow: mung bean sprouts, fatty fish, lean meats, HEMP PROTEIN POWDER - i love it. super anti inflammatory, full of nutrition. very healing. goat's milk protein powder - often tolerated even w/dairy casein allergy
Detox - get a good liver detoxifier - ie Liver PF by Jarrow etc.

follow anti inflammation diet/anti glycation - don't add more inflammation/allergic responses to the pot - let the body recuperate.
especially certain oils like canola....
but olive oil, coconut oil are anti inflammatory
okra is very soothing and healing too

i hope this helps.

i and my children have tons of allergies.scary .alot of these are anaphylactic and most of us cary epipens so we can try to stave off dying long enough for us to get alot of benadryl and sometimes a steroid in our system .[and get to the er of course] but i am wondering more and more if this all comes from some other auto immune disorder. i was hospitalized recently and the doc suspected this and told me. they wanted to run more tests however in that environment the nurs or anyone would accidently leave the door open and i would start having mojor reactions to the food odors .or sometimes it was simply because a nurse was wearing perfumed hair or body products.then i went from being there for a bone joint problem to anaphylaxix.some nurses or doc would finally come in look or listen and say i wasnt having a problem[ it had just started . i could tell the feeling of my throat /tongue swelling but it wasnt very obvious yet.]walk out and within a few minutes every thing escalated and they would try to get it under control. i hate having to tell anyone i have serious allergies because people assume you are talking about a few sniffles or you want attention.i find it so frustrating because i cant go anywhere unless i have a huge constuction mask with me in case we pass a restaunt or at the store the fresh soup odor may be in the air nearby. does anyone else with [additionally ]airborn induced food allergies know of an inexpensive mask that really works that is easy to conceal on your face with a scarf or something .anyhow the one i use leaves me looking like i have a bad sunburn from needing to be adjusted tight enough to keep the allergens out.
ps i wonder how many of us ther are that have lots of allergies. anyone know?

My daughter-in-law is allergic to everything outside. She has to have allergy shots.

Fortunately mine are only seasonal and have had success with Quercetin.

I may have answer to UR issues. Check my site. It is worth the look.

Have you had any allergy shots to desensitize you to the allergens? I used to go for shots I think it was once a week for several weeks the every other week for a while then every 3 week and so on ..
it takes a year or more but they helped me a lot I was allergy tested and everything lit up .. right now I do fine .

Hi! My prayers are with you and all that suffer allergies. Sometimes they don't show up on skin tests, but they are there. I can tell when something affects me, but am not sure what. I carry an epi-pen, hope I never have to use it. My heart doctor says I don't need an ICD; but if I have to use my epi-pen, it could kill me. I had a lot of trouble convincing education staff that they should not be wearing perfumes because of the others around them, especially the young children with asthma. It becomes a problem wherever I work. I'm a nurse, and never wore perfume (like I could tolerate it). There is absolutely no excuse for a nurse to be wearing perfume to work. When the exterminator came into the building, I went out. I never let him spray my office; no carpet cleaning powders on the carpets. I had control of my office; took years to get people to buy into not using them at all. I also have asthma, COPD, and sarcoidosis, along with the heart problems, and allergies. Help!!!!!! I cannot tolerate most allergey or pain medications, because most increase the heart rate. Definitely can't have that happen. I put my hope in the Lord, that He will give me the wisdom I need and keep me going. I'm also on coumadin, so I can't just go out and start taking herbs and vitamins, or even eat certain foods. If I come up with any ideas, I'll post. Blessings! Great-Gram

Pollyann: allergies are inflammatory, which is basically the same as diabetes. Diet can play a major role in improving your condition. I struggled for years. I had years of injections that didn't really do much.
You have to stop eating pro-oxidants (prepared foods, dairy, fats, sweets and high glycemic index foods) and eat more antioxidants.
There is a website that explains how it works diabeticshandbook dot com. you will discover that there are a lot of things that you are doing that are complicating your diabetes and your allergies.
I also found that using food grade hydrogen peroxide for about a month, completely eliminated my allergies. Unfortunately, I will have to do it again, because of dietary slip-ups.
What I have covered is over simplified, but space does not permit full coverage.

My daughter woke up each morning with her face swollen, It seams she was allergic to nearly every thing. she was planing to leave California as soon as she was was of age. I found one drink supplement that help her. she is now in her late 20's and is still in California enjoying life. I don't know the rules about this company, they may consider the information advertisement.

I have had allergies since I can remember indoor and out. Pet daruff, pollin, prefume, ect.. and mine get so bad that I need a inhalure and most of the time I get a cold out of it if the attact is bad enough. I feel your pain.

My mother had suffered for years because of allergies. She got relief through "NAET". It literally changed her life. Another source for allergy relief is Quantum-Touch using Core 2 techniques. Both techniques work, but they both work differently. Do some research and give it a try.
Blessings,
Tami Snyder

As far as I know allergies and diabetes are not inflammatory. I think diabetes is considered an autoimmune response, and allergies is simply your body's response to a foreign antigen (ie the specific food you might be allergic to, mold, a certain tree, etc.

I could be wrong on this.

I would be just as careful taking a lot of the things people have recommended here as I would a medication that you need a prescription for.

Most of these things have never been studied for safety and effectiveness, and have never had good scientifically constructed double-blind placebo studies. People are under the misconception if something is natural, it is safe, which is simply not true.

Sometimes actual drugs have been found in some of the weight loss products, etc. and right now there is another scare going on with some of the whey powder because of Salmonella again.

One of the worst things we did in the U.S. is essentially de-regulate our vitamin and supplement industry. You don't even know if the dose is as they say on the label, the purity can be off etc., and the contents may not be what they are even supposed to be, much less the dosage being accurate.

My GI doctor the other day just told me that all Probiotics are not even created equal.

There has even been quite a bit of negative news in the last few years of taking large doses of many of the vitamins like Vit-A, Beta Carotene, Vit.-C, and even Vit. E (may raise LDL cholesterol).

Buyer Beware in the Supplement, Vitamin Categories!

As far as liver and colon cleansers--I think that whole industry is bogus. You notice you don't see those foot cleasing pads on TV commercials anymore.
