What I am going through?

My name is Ryan Bradford and I am 25 years old. I was a normal young woman; I had a job as a administrative assistant at the Division of Family Resources in my area. I was young woman who trying to my life on track. For months, I was trying to lose weight because I was gaining alot of weight and had a lack of energy each day. I went to the doctor to see what was wrong and also, I had a swollen left foot. The doctor told me that I was anemic, but I asked her about my weight gain, but she said nothing about it.

I went with my best friend down to Alabama so she can see her father in the hospital, while there, we were driving around and going out for the night, and drunk driver hits us head on, where I flew out my seat into the front of the car. I suffered minor head injury, and while at the emergency room I found out that I had a tumor, but the doctor didn't know what type of tumor. When I came back home, I went to another doctor, to see what type of tumor I have and what I need to do about it. I got CT scan and the scan says that it is a germ cell tumor, but I don't know if it is cancer or not. I need surgery.

With me not having any health insurance and no money, alot of doctor's in my area, which is Northwest Indiana, do not want to see me. A doctor said they did not care about my situation unless I have money. I have read about ovarian cancer, and I have all of the symptoms. I have gone to various hospital for my pain, but the doctors have told that it is not that serious and I need a doctor to see, but I don't know what to do anymore. I have tried everything, but no results, but I just wanted to know what can I do?

Dear Ryan,

What a lot you have on your plate! And how good of you to seek help on this site!

If I were you I think I'd contact Social Services and ask them for help. You might also go to a church (you don't have to be a member) and ask for help there. Remember that everything happens for a reason, that you are divinely guided and protected and that you are important and make a difference in this world!

Take care of yourself. Get help. It's out there. Keep looking. And when it all seems like too much to handle, stop and take a deep breath, close your eyes and know that you are loved. God bless you, Ryan. You'll be in my prayers.

With love,
Mary Margaret

Wow Ryan I am so sorry to hear about your tumor, I will be praying for you as you prepare for the surgery. Take care!
Gail

thank you.

Hi Ryan,

You certainly do have a lot on your plate. One thing I would suggest is looking to see if Indiana has a state provided health insurance. I had a couple of years between dx's and didn't have insurance for sometime in that period, and was about to get, high risk insurance thru the state. It was like $100 a month and it was for people that didn't have insurance, or couldn't get insurance due to a preexisting condition.

I too had germ cell tumors, the good thing about those tumors is that they are slow growing.

You will be in my prayers,
Nikki

Thanks nikki
