I take profound wisdom wherever I find it.

"Choose serenity over security"

"Let nothing so disturb us, so fill us with sorrow or discouragement, as to make us fortit the joy.
Joy is not simply a matter of temperament; it is always hard. All the more reason why we should try to acquire it and make it grow in our hearts."

"There is a spiritual solution to every problem"

"Choose serenity over security, Let nothing disturb us"

Ah, Jaynie if we could hold true to these words every day of our lives. Mother Theresa, such a humble servant who has had such a great impact on this world.

Albert Camus stated," In the depth of Winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible Spring."

Personally, in my times of suffering and adversity...I have truly discovered that happiness is transient as opposed to the joy which emerges in the hard times, that is rooted in my faith. Happiness is the leaves upon trees that come and go as the seasons occur...Joy is the roots that run deep to nourish the growth of the tree and keep it standing tall even through the storms of life.

Thanks for sharing this quote, Ruth

Serenity, Happiness and Joy! They all come together in the Faith of the righteous. The Word of God is still true today and forever. I find my joy renewed as I study His Word and Pray everyday. If I am sick or don't make the time, my joy and happiness decreases.
May God bless you always.

I like your tree analogy Ruth. And I'm a Camus fan too.

'Choose serenity over security" Those 4 words shift me instantly into spirit and strength.

take care, Jaynie

Hi cronicX4,

Yes, I too believe spiritual growth requires daily care and feeding (smile).

Take good care. I hope you are having some pleasant moments today.

Jaynie

Thank you. Yes, today I am having a good day. Pain is down and my eyes are up! Hope you too are having a good day.

Hi cronicx4,

Wow.....was looking at your profile and that is quite and interesting life you have led. 50 kids!!! Amazing. You have truly been through EVERYTHING now! LOL.

I like that you described yourself as " a 51 year old positive person that fights depression because of illness." That is so true isn't it. I am a 53 year old positive person........and I fight hard to keep her alive daily (smile). Mostly, I use 'quiet persistence'.... a greatly underrated self-made skill. Women can become especially good at this where the welfare of others are involved. Now it is time to slow down a little and take good of yourself! You have earned this time. You must be quite the amazing person.

Take care,
Jaynie

Thanks for the compliment, but doing foster care was more of a blessing for us than them. They were great.
I have 5 of my own though, 3 raised and 2 at home. My life is wonderful, despite the pain and illness. It could always be worse. Hope to talk again. God bless.
