One of those days...

I woke up feeling sick this morning. Nausea, stomach cramps, headache, lethargic and the yucky D.
Went back to bed for 4 more hours...until noon. Got up and went to get some food for the week and 7up. While there I think I went as fast as I could get through. Now home I took some Compazine and a Tylenol. Watching a video and typing. I hate these days. Nothing gets done and my pups don't get walked.
For those who have lived with this for years...how long have you had this? Have any of you had heart problems due to all the high cholesterol? They can not get mine down for nothing. It worries me every day.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad day Mama. I do have high cholesterol, or I did anyway, but my triglycerides are the hardest to keep down. I take 20mg Crestor and my LDL cholesterol is 70 down from 405, but my HDL is very low..like 29 and should be at least 40. The HDL is the biggest factor for avoiding heart problems and exercise is a biggy for that, which I have a hard time doing. I have a lot of severe leg and hip pain.
My triglycerides are down to 226 from 1300....I take Lovaza for that, which Omega-3 with some other stuff in it, but no side effects.

I hope your pups made it through their day without a walk. I have a few 'furbabies' myself, but fortunately I have a huge fenced in yard! Here, go walk/ run yourself..lol. That sounded harsh....don't believe it, because my JRT gets carried to our bed every night! lol

I'm so sorry MamaG but I had to laugh when I read the beginning of your post. It's not that I don't feel bad for you, because I do. It's that I just came on this site to complain about the exact, and I mean EXACT, same stuff! Only I couldn't lie in bed this morning because I'm out of town for work and I had to show up for work. Had I been home, I would have called in sick. I don't experience this all the time, but have off and on for the duration of the disease. It sucks. I'm just happy I'm close to a bathroom!

No I totally understand! This sucks on days like this. Especially hot days! It is up to 107 today and my swamp cooler is not working very well. I have it on 50 and my thermo says 85.
Today I got up and made hashbrowns and an egg with toast. So far so good. I just hate it cause one day I am gawd awful and the next I am 50%, then 3rd day I am 75%. At least no throwing up this time. Always good when no throwing up.
I don't know what I would do if I was out of town and sick!! you poor thing!!
Jenny1 I knew I had this stupid thing in common with you and fsgsblahs!!! We 3 seem to be on the same fricking tired, nausea's yucky path. I just wish we 3 were in the same area then we could hold each other up or at least our hair while we throw up!!
All I can say for today is thank the heavens for Mtn. Dew!

I throw up all of the time. The doctors keep telling me it is not related to kidney disease but I don't buy it. It all started happening right before I had kidney problems, and seem to come and go on my bad days. I am always arguing with them about it. Hope you feel better soon, I KNOW what you feel like!

Aweson-son - I read your earlier post and replied. Let me tell you the throwing us is your kidneys!

I posted this for another friend on here so take a look at this:

http://www.kidney.org/atoz/atozItem.cfm?id=95

it is all about nutrition and CKD. If you are eating things that are backing up into your kidneys and processing you get ill.

My problem is making sure I have not been in contact with anyone who is flu-ey or what did I eat? Those are the first things I think of when i get icky like that.
This one is probably from my daughter. She came back from camp feeling nauseous and I didn't think anything of it until the very flipping next day I was down. It was that quick.
Keep an eye on what you eat it'll help alot and also get an order for Compazine...it gets me through a lot of the nausea and stops the vomiting most times.

I do wish that we lived closer! Would be nice to have someone to complain to in person who understands what I'm going through! Thankfully I feel MUCH better today. Though I do need to eat something soon because my tummy is starting to get upset...it's so sensitive! I think it may have been something I ate, but then again, I didn't eat anything that I hadn't had before, so it's hard to say. I need to down some water today because I'm so dehydrated now. And that's going to affect the swelling. Ugh. MamaG - there is a chance that I MAY be in socal sometime in Aug for work. Maybe we can meet for dinner or drinks or something? I'll let ya know if all goes as planned...

Well, I am lucky in the nausea/ barfing area...I haven't had that problem YET!! Actually, I don't have any of the 'normal' kidney disease side effects, for which I am eternally greatful, but know it is just a matter of time!

There is no one remotely close to me with FSGS and it shows with the docs...LMAO! I wish there were, because I am a very social person, with a very lonely disease :-( It would be nice to have someone closer to me as well, then we could make fun of all of the normal, healthy people...lmao...just kidding!

You know, I was thinking (amazing, i know). It would be kinda fun to arrange some kind of meeting with everyone. Like, decide on a place and time and everyone go! Maybe something like meet in Orlando and we can all hang out at Disney World or something like that. Would anyone be interested in that? And if so, any suggestions?

I could make it to Vegas!?! Its a little closer for me (and I could justify that trip!) and we could have some fun there!
We could even give it a name...CKD in Vegas!! LOL!!!
Same time every year?? We could pick one hotel on Fremont street and book our rooms there? They are a lot older but not as costly. Especially if we book it on a Sunday - Thursday. Or maybe even Labor Day weekend?
Fremont street is so much fun at night and you don't have to drive anywhere plus all the buffets down there too!
We would drive them crazy with all of us giving our food orders! But hey for once I wouldn't feel like the outsider in the group while ordering...lol!!! We'd drive the waitress nuts!!
I am so excited!! Even if we can't do it this year we can get it set up for next and set up like a schedule for those interested in doing things together? Also maybe each bring the info they have found or done the previous year and we can compare? We all have our "file" we carry and then going home to our nephs we can show them what we heard or picked up from others?
There are inexpensive shows to see, places to go and hotels to gawk at!! Oh and don't forget the shopping!! Let's do this girls!!!

I love Vegas! And I love Freemont Street too! And the strip is a short bus ride away for those that want to see the new hotels too. I'm all for it. Though not sure if I'll be able to make it this year or not yet. There's a possibility of doing some international work through the end of the year, but I don't know yet. Either way we can figure out an annual date and start planning for next year! I suggest sometime in the fall as the weather is beautiful that time of year!

I'm with ya on that!!! Let's do this!!
Let's set a date then?? Sept or Oct?

let's start a ckd in vegas thread...no one will read this and know until we do that!
