Lori, I am so sorry. I have been there. The morphine and patch worked ok for my mom. Just watch for what is called breakthrough pain. I know this isn't going to be easy. We are all here for you and your family. Love, Karen

Lorie, I can't believe how fast she has slid down either! Gosh we had all the hopes that she was going to beat this for sure. I am so sorry. I agree with your not wanting her to suffer anymore. I will up the prayers for you both. Keep me posted. God Bless, Lucy

Lorie,
I will say a prayer for you and your mom today. It is so difficult to watch your mom suffer. My mom also had SCLC and her decline was very rapid. I pray that the morphine works and she is painfree and at peace. This is a terrible thing to have to go through as a young daughter. Just being there for your mom is a great gift, and I know she feels your love and support.
Stay strong and please know we are all here for you.
Tracy

Lori - I am so sorry to hear this about your mom - I will pray for both of you -
Karen - Be strong

Lorie:
It is truly difficult to watch those we love so much, suffer in any way. I know where you are at in the process and recall how I felt when my dad took a turn for the worse. You suddenly realize that your prayers have been answered in a different way that you had hoped. It isn't easy, but, you can get through this.
Loving prayers for comfort go out to your mom this morning and pray God releases her from her pain soon. Hugs Jolene

So sorry to hear about your Mother. Know how hard it is to watch this sudden decline. I went through it six months ago with my Mother who had colon cancer. In the last chapter, Hospice was a God-send. They knew how to manage the pain much better than the traditional medical world. Have you considered Hospice?

My prayers go out to you on this difficult journey.

Hugs,
Sheila

Still thinking about you and wondering when I will be in this situation with my mom. Thanks for your response and God bless you. Kathy

thank you all so much ,i just got back from the hospital ,it has been a very long and hard day we had to make the hardest desision of our lives today, they got her cat scan back and found an abcess in her abdomon, and she needed surgury ,to make a very long story short we desided to have them do the surgury, everything went ok,it was diverticulitous,,it burst and they had to remove part of her colon ,they had to put a cholastemy bag ,sorry if not spelling right they also took a piece of her liver for biopsy.we thought it was the cancer ,but it wasnt ,we do know for sure they told us if she came through the surgery that she might at the most have 2 months.thank you all for your thoughts and prayers .god bless .

I just lost my mom to gallbladder to liver cancer last month. I looked after her at home till her dying breath. It is the hardest thing I've every had to do; watching her in pain that even the medication often couldn't touch. For the last couple of weeks of her life the only time she woke up (because she was so drugged) was when she had pain. How sad. But I'm at peace that I did all I could. I was with her day and night...as much as I could be. Be there for your mom and tell her you love her as much as you can. God bless you during this awful time and give you the strength you'll need. God be with your mom as well...help her not be in pain and grant you all peace.

Lorie, i am sorry for you and your mom. Though i just lost my dear Dad i never gave up hope. i will pray for your mom and your family.
