Salvage chemo 1 down...

0 Recommendations

I haven't posted or updated lately but I was in the hospital doing my first salvage chemo to prep for my stem cell transplant. The oncologist were right that this was some hard core stuff. I think I have gotten all of the side effects. We are getting those under control and within the next 3 weeks we'll go back in for round 2. After the second round it's back to MDA to be checked for remission status. The program is grueling but with a 70% cure rate which are pretty good odds in my book. I'm hanging strong and being guided by the Lord's hand. I hope all of you are remembering your courage and strength in the Lord as you travel whatever journey you have.
Blessings,
Joy

Bless you Joy, May God give you the strength to fight!! I'm routing for you, Karen

Joy,
Hang in there. My wife just finished (on May 8) her 6th Chemo treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. She is feeling a little better each day. You will feel better too after the treatment. Be positive!

Joy, I am so sorry you are going through all of this. When we aren't use to harsh chemo, it can be grueling I am sure. We will pray, you will get through this, please know how much others are thinking of you, take care, Sharon

Kept watching for you. Thanks for sharing at this time and letting all of us who love you, admire you and want to pray for you sincerely as you go through this particular time. I had three quiet days by my husbands bedside while he suffered with infection in an inflamed kidney for six days in hospital and I found a time for restoration, refinement and restfulness which I needed. It was good to have doctors and nurses caring for him. May our Lord continue to give you that peace and joy that you need in this time of physical aggany. I will continue tp pray with you while I care for him through this Pyelonephritis and his MDS and COPD.

Hello Joy: I hope and pray for you on your treatment. I am also doing treatment at this time. I never heard of salvage chemo . Is that something new? I hope you will get the results you need. My prayers are with you.

Hi Hilde...
Salvage chemo is just a harder core chemo than you received earlier and is usually for relapsed disease. I'm doing this for relapsed lymphoma prior to an autologous stem cell transplant.
Joy
My best to you in your treatment.
Take care
