Flector Patch for bone and muscle pain accompanied by Egoscue exercises

0 Recommendations

My doctor prescribed this medicine (known as diclofenac epolamine topical patch) 1.3%. You wear the patch for 12 hours but I keep it on longer than that. It really works. I have 4 severely herniated discs in my lower back, 3 bone spurs in my right hip and Osteoporosis. This patch enables me to do a ton of gardening and exercise without the usual deep pain. I also plan on skiing before the season ends this year. I supplement it with the rollon Biofreeze product. Many times I will roll on alot of the biofreeze and then sit in a hot hot tub - what relief and it lasts. The patch enables me to go several days on one patch. I think for 30 days worth of patches it will cost me $2.67 a patch. I don't use the patch every day just when I have really overdone it with gardening and working on a house remodel. I also got Pete Egoscue's book titled Pain Free a revolutionary method for stopping chronic pain.

I took picture of myself left and right side and front and back then send them in to an Egoscue trainer who puts together an online set of video exercises for me to do every day. There are about 16 exercises in the set I now do. These exercises help me to eliminate pain. The cost is $50 for each new set. I get a new set about every 2 months. Jack Nickalus the golfer said "Pete Egoscue has totally changed my life. Never have I experienced such complete pain relief as I have following the Egoscue Method."

Hi Hoffasio
I use the flector patch as well. I had a broken humerous, it helped more than hydrocodone and oxycodone. I would check with your dr. about using it for more than 12 hrs. I thought one could only use one in 24hrs and no longer than 12 hrs. at a time for health reasons (kidney-liver). I also love the biofreeze both as U say WORK, for me anyhow.
My best

Hi: I tried to get the patches, but my insurance won't pay for them. The retail cost for one box is $198.00 so I can't get them filled. I'm glad you both are doing so well with them.

Have either of you had any heart problems with them? Since it's an NSAID I'm just wondering. I have trouble with motrin, ibuprophen etc because they're anti-imflammatories and cause rapid and irregular heart beat. I guess if you don't have any heart problems, to begin with, then they shouldn't bother you.

I also like biofreeze but can't say it works as well as your review. Glad you both have had luck with the patches.

Hi windblown:
No I have had no adverse effects from it except my blood pressure was up there. (We still don't know if it was from the pain or the patch). I do use it sparingly now that my shoulder is healed. Hey, ask your dr. for samples. My dr. got me thru most of my major pain with samples. The PCP had them so did my rheumie. The pharmas are giving them out a lot. Dont' be embarrassed, some drs'. will even ask the pharma for samples if you ask them.
Times are tough.
Good luck
C

I have had great relief from these patches too.
