hi everybody, 2 days ago i went to the grand opening of a clinic next to my house, and they were giving free test for differant things to people and they had a little machine called sahara clinical bone sonometer, and my t-score is -2.1 and my Est Heel BMD is 0.345 g/cm2,
i have no idea what that means, the chart says i have osteoporosis, does anyone know if theres a chance that the machine is wrong? and if not, does anyone have any ideas how this will effect me? as of now i never had any injurys with my bones before, exept for having a sprained foot from getting hit by a car at 11 years old. i also have a bad lower back problem for a couple years now, and people say that i slouch over alot i guess i dont really realize it. i havent had a chance to find a doctor yet, does anyone know of any good doctors in the orange county, california area that exepts medi-cal? im just nervous cause i cant find any anwsers to questions i have. i dont know nothing about this, does anyone have any idea about how long it could possibly take for this to really effect me? i thought this is somthing older people get, im actually a pretty THICK girl, could that make it better or worse having this? could this end up putting me in a wheel chair or something? i understand everyone's differant but could you guys possibly just give me some ideas in your opinion of anything i could expect. what kind of treatments are there, or any ideas i could use to take care of myself better? besides my back, i dont really feel bad, should i start being careful about not falling right now or could i still have years before i have to worry about it because im the mother of a three year old boy who im constantly chasing after, should i be carefull about playing rough with him? cause i mean he straight jumps on me and tries to beat me up and we wrestle around and even i play fight with the kids im my family that are 13 and 17 year olds too, is it possible for something happening to me doing that? i am in pretty bad shape (calcium wise) i have had gallstones when i was twelve and sufford with it for 10 years before the damn doctors would give me a ultra sound to test it cause i was uninsured. anyway im barely starting to take calcium pills does anyone have any good nutrition advice for me either cause im straight clueless about everything. im sorry everyone, i know im asking alot and i'll probley get the answers when i get a doctor but the waiting is driving me nuts! so anyone with any help me would be apprieciated very much.
thanks guys
