I am so sad and shocked tonight as I heard today that a great, long-time friend passed away last night from a heart attack. It will be a long time before I accept that he's really gone. I always called him my "guiding light". He had given me so much support and understanding especially over the past several years since my heart event.
Making it even sadder is that I remember about 6-7 years ago that he told me his doctor had advised him to take Rx to lower cholesterol and blood pressure. He told me he wasn't going to do that; wanted to take "natural" things like some kind of juice, vitamins, etc. I told him that he should do some additional research and that the Rx my hubby takes had really helped with his cholesterol. But, I didn't nag -- it's just not my style with friends. His wife says he never did start any Rx.
Now, I'll always wonder if he might have lived longer if I had just tried harder to change his mind. He was a beautiful soul who took a big risk that didn't work and I lost a wonderful friend. laurali
