WHERE HAS THIS DOCTOR BEEN FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS?

wow oh wow oh wow.........i finally found a doctor that i think i can live with.......it took almost a month of frustration to finally get an appointment with her, but if today is any indication, it was well worth the wait.
i got used to other "heart doctors" handing me the paperwork when i needed to have tests done, etc so that i could schedule them. dr. guerrero asked me if i minded her scheduling me.she has 3 pulmonologists that she prefers to work with..she has a radiologist that she really prefers.....so, long story short, her office is making all future appointments for me. when we were going over the "standard" new patient form, i hadn't listed any other hospitalizations or surgeries so when she asked about it i told her that there were too many to list on that form and not enough room. she asked me to sit down at home and make as complete a list as i can remember because she herself keeps very detailed records of all of her patients and she would like to have that in mine. she said that although her primary care will be my heart, she is one that believes in treating and taking care of the whole body so that if i have other issues arise she will coordinate my care so that everything is of benefit to my heart!!! i asked about a transplant and she said that maybe we can improve my heart to the point where i wouldn't need a transplant because that creates another set of potential issues........
so, i went in today thinking that i would be seen for my first patient visit and then other things would be scheduled for a later date......icd interrogation, coumadin check, lung function (amiodarone), etc. she got me right into their arrythmia clinic and they did the interrogation so she now has 3/4 inch of paper printouts to go through, i had a software download so that if my lead fractures or the battery gets low, i get the audible signal, i am enrolled in the coumadin clinic and learned more today than i have since 2007 (and in fact, they got authorization from my insurance company today to have my blood checked there rather than a freestanding lab because i have horrendous veins and they do the finger stick there), i am being enrolled in the amiodarone clinic, i already am scheduled for a 3d echo and a 2d ultrasound of my heart, scheduled for a 2 day nuclear stress test and am waiting for the appointment with the pulmonologist (which she said will be high priority and will be very soon).
am i impressed? oh my gosh, i have to wonder where this woman has been for the last 6 years of my life. right now, i feel like my life is only beginning!!!
