left side chest pain

Hi, i am new here, & was hoping someone can relate to what i'm experiencing or can give me some advice.To start with, i'm 29 & for the last two months i've been having this pain/ discomfort on the left side of chest, right over the heart area. It's feels more like a spasm & lasts just a few seconds.When i first started having these pains, they would come on 5-6 times a day, now they happen every other day about 1-2 times.I went to my doctor, & had an x-ray done, everything fine.He did bloodwork, found out my cholesterol was high, told me to watch what i eat.He basically said the pain is all in my head, what a doc, huh?I asked him if he would refer me to a cardiologist, at first he would not, saying it's not related to my heart, i pretty much had to beg him to refer me, finally he did.I met with a cardiologist, he recomended i get a heart cath done. Was all set to have this procedure done, & my insurance denied me, saying i should first have an upper gi, which i've already had done, & it was found i had a hiatal hernia. The pain i'm having now is differ from the hernia pain.Anyway, sorry to ramble on, but does anyone out there have this same type of pain, & if so, do you know what it could be caused from?I'm so scared it could be something to do with my heart!
