Echo showed blood clot 9 yrs after MI

Hi All: I was wondering if anyone had ever had this happen or if you know of anyone. Had a "widow maker" about 9 years ago. Have several stents.

Currently, I've changed cardiologists, and, had an abdominal and cardiac ultra sound done. The facility is new and the equipments boasts "state of the art".

Anyway 2 days later I got a call from the Doc saying she wanted me to begin coumadin treatment because a blood clot was found in the left ventricle.

I was panicked and shocked. When I went to her office to speak with her regarding this discovery, she opined that it "looks like it's been there a long time". She thinks it's probably from when I had MI. She said she doesn't think it's going to go anywhere but, wants me to begin coumadin anyway.

She doesn't have my full cardiac record yet, however, I've had echo cardiograms every year since the heart attack and have never been told I have a blood clot.

It's perplexing, and, I'm scared. If anyone has any input at all it would be appreciated. Thank you.
