Hi Everyone
I'm just going to start from the begining. On March 7 I was out for dinner ,I stood up and fainted. Taken to our little hospital and they sent me home. I kept having episodes so they finally sent me to some specialist. I saw a few . They did an ablation but it was not successful. So my ICD was inplanted on april 17. Everything was fine i was becoming somewhat comfortable with the whole thing. Then on june 30th we went out for dinner and while I was eating I recieved my first shock followed by six more before the ambulance finally got there. When I reached the hospital they could not get my heart to settle down, so I recieved shock after shock until my dad finally lost it on them. They ancubated me and sent me an hour away to a much more experienced hospital, in which they specialize in cardiac/ arrythmias. They did another ablation didn't work. So I continued to recieve more shocks and my heart kept going into Vtack. So they did another ablation but on the outside of my heart. Most commonley they are done on the inside. So after surgery the doctor came in and said he was able to coterize some of it. So that made me pretty happy. Finally some good news. Pretty much right after I heard some good news I went into v-tack again, so that set me back again. But (knock on wood) I haven't had anymore shocks since july. My ICD was set @ 180 but my heart rate reached that speed and My icd didn't fire. So I've seen so many specialist. They all have different ways of doing things. I was pretty upset when the ICD specialist set my ICD to 140 then when it reaches that it will pace a few times and if that doesn't work my ICD will fire. I argued with him about how low it was. He said that my heart was so weak that setting it @180 could only due more damage. I'm sorry that i'm talking so much but it's finally nice to talk to people that know what it's like. Also I have had it checked, all my leads are in properly and all my shocks were needed. So feel free to write me back. I told my dad one day that it's my best friend but my worst enemy.
