Hi, I am new to this sight. On March 29, 2009 I was in a car accident and told I had congestive heart failure. They sent me home with ef at 15% and told me it might come back. It is now 65%. However they said it could happen again. I was laid off in January and they think I should just find another job and live a normal life. I'm going to need healthcare after my cobra runs out. I am 55 and diabetic. Thanks for listening. Robinlynn

The doctors feel it was from too much thyroid medication my family doctor put me on and the stress from the accident. I know I should be thrilled its at 65% but I'm so worried it will happen again and I feel so vulnerable now. I have always looked at life as a challenge but this has taken the wind out of my sails. Thanks for listening.

Robynlynn ...what a pretty name.

I hope you have been recovering from the impact of your accident, and that you are otherwise well.

I am so sorry you have this loss of health coverage threat hanging over your head...can't imagine even how that might feel.

So, have no suggestions except love your heart.

I started recently in the mornings saying to my heart "good morning heart" and put my hand on it then visual light soften its edges of fear...it helps me to not resent the way its misfortune has changed my life from a busy, crazy productive woman to a slower pace, norm...the new normal is not always easy to absorb but is definitely here to stay.

Welcome to this site, it has saved my ......since January when I thought I was the only one with these symptoms, it is an amazing group of women who share from their hearts....welcome!

Let me welcome you to our site. You have come to the right place.

It is amazing about your EF from 15 to 65 - just wondering how much time between and what meds helped so much.

My EF was 13% when I was first diagnosed in July 2006.

That is the beauty of this site... we all have stories to tell and the support is remarkable. I had stress-induced cardiomyopathy. I too, was told to keep my stress level down to prevent relapse. I now exercise and have been working since May on life balance.

I wish you lots of luck. Keep the faith. Good luck with your job search.
