VT Ablation

Hello group, I am recovering from having my 3rd ablation, which I had on 9-6-12. Just little back ground I was scheduled to have a pacemaker put in, but during the surgery the dr decided on not doing it. He woke me up during surgery and I was still having my PVC's. he told my husband to let me know when I woke up from recovery not to worry about them. He changed his mind in the pacemaker and instead when I weas released from the hospital on that following Tuesday. He ordered a holster monitor only for 24 hrs and today they called and said I still have the PVC's. my heart rate is fast and skips every 2-4 beats. I advised them that I a still feeling as if my heart is in my throat, my legs swell, I get dizzy, and very tired. The dr said since my heart muscle is ok, they are unsure what else could be the problem. I have seen a neurologist just in case in was something to to with nerves. That came out negative and I am still feeling like crap. Now my dr tells my that when I am awake is when I am experiencing the PVC's and everything else I am feeling. I am so at a lost because I want to feel better and I have an appt tomorrow with my dr and he is scheduled to release me back to work. I worried because I am a detective on a narcotics unit and the stress level is there. How do I ignore what I am feeling and go on as if its not happening? Can anyone other help me out with some advice or words of encouragement. Thanks in advance.

hi asims,
i dont know much about your problem, reading your post their seems to be a lot of questions that have not been answered, how are you suppost to feel ok without the information that you need, i would suggest that you find another doctor for a second opionion, a lot of us ladies have done this, as for me im on my 4 th doctor, we have to find some one that will listen and help us understand what is going on, what to watch for etc.. hope this helps...Diane

Wow,

I will pray for you! Definitely seek another opinion. Get a copy of all your tests and the notes from the operation if you can. Drs. are not Gods, they all have different opinions and have been taught by different schools of medicine. Find out the names of some local
cardios and google them. You may be able to find a lot of info about their qualifications and how recently they graduated. If you were just having PVCs, that would be one thing, but you have a lot of other symptoms.

Don't take " I don't know" for an answer!

In the meantime, PVCs may not be serious, but they are not something to just live with. Are you on any ABC drugs like Diovan? These drugs limit the adrenaline response to stress. Also, start to be aware of when your body is stressed (which some of us used to thrive on!) and mentally relax yourself. Limit your caffeine, that helped me.

Read all you can on line BUT- do not freak out when someting looks negative- not everything online is accurate, current or applies to you. It is only a tool for possible info.

I hope this helps a little. Stay on here and these women will offer you a lot of support and love! If you don't get a response, try posting on another thread. People here do care and will respond.

Lots of Love, God Bless You,

Bonnie

Can you go on desk duty for awhile? If so, ask the doc to recommend it until further testing can be done.

I agree with everyone else. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR and get a second opinion. I had an arrhythmia that I believe was caused by a beta blocker. i had an ablation last year and I am better, although I also have heart muscle damage. It took a few doctors before I found a fit, and I really believe having the wrong doctor is almost as bad as having the disease. Hope you are ok.

asims10,

I totally hear your frustration. i still am this way. I have has several ablations, cauterizations, and nuclear medicine testing. U need to get a second option! Get all your records together to you will have them both from the doctors office and the hospital. Ask your doctor to help you find another person out side the practice for a second option. I live in maine and have traveled to boston to top end doctors. its not that you don't think your doctor doesn't know what he's doing but, with you still feeling this way, the pvc's you just want answers to whats going on. i'll be praying for you my friend let me know how your appt goes

Thanks ladies for all of your responses, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I am in the process of looking for a new doctor, but since this is being treated under the heart and lung bill. I have to get an approval to switch doctors., however in the mean time my doctor has put me on atenolol. I am still feeling the same way and my pressure has been getting low. So I don't know.....just still confused. My doctor has given me a name of a doctor in jacksonvill florida, so i will just need to see if he is on the list for heart and lung bill and workers comp. I can't get a desk job because the doctor has placed me on full duty status and because of that I can not be on the desk. If you ladies can just keep me in your prayers, because I really need it. Hopefully there will be a solution and whatever gods will it will be done. I will keep you ladies posted with the outcome.
