pain in feet, after being on simvastin.I am having physio,laser treamant ,and orthotic shoe inserts .But i am still in pain ,it doesn't seem to be improving.Any suggestions?

Hi Cissie, a fellow Brit I see. Nice to have you here and welcome!
There is a current post here about statins with all the information you might need, talk with your doctor and maybe ask to stop them for a while, or at least cut the dose, it's the only way to find out for sure.
If you use the 'find it' box at the top right hand corner of this page, you'll find loads of information.

Cissie, as Lidia knows, I have the same problem. I have had every test/xray known to medicine on my hips down, am now in pt, put orthotics in my shoes a few days ago...
Who do I sound like ;)
Last week, the physical therapist told me I had fibromyalgia! I am now thinking of going to an acupuncurtist.
I went off (after conversation with md) statins in March and Red Yeast Rice but it's getting worse. This all started with cholesterol drugs, so now I am thinking of investigating those. I have no life, just plenty of doctors. When my insurance runs out I'm moving to England.

Thanks , Iam taking coq10 supplement but they don't' seem to be helping .Will be interested to know how you go on with the acupuncture

I have been off statins and Zetia and Welchol for approximately one month - taking Amrix for muscle pain. It is MUCH better, but not all gone. Not sure what to take although I do take Lecithin, Omega 3 and now have started taking Guggulipid. Any responses or inputs about statins causing muscle problems will be appreciated.

Been to physio today took me off the laser treatment ,they are a bit lost on what treatment to do next as my left foot is hot and inflamed . I am now trying cold compress with a small frozen water bottle rolling with my foot.

are you off all statins? what other meds are you on? zetia can cause this as well as other meds in different classes. let me know. i wish you well.

if you are still on simvistatin, that is why you are still in pain. do a search for "statin myopathy" and you will see a whole lot!

Iam on asthma medication, singular,inhalors ,reflux tablets, omeprazole,coq10,I had a problems until i took statins
