Hi Nikki,
Reynaud's and Scleroderma are both connective tissue disorders....Reynaud's is part of scleroderma but Reynaud's can exist separately. In other words, Reynaud's doens't mean scleroderma in on the way. Reynaud's is fairly common compared to scleroderma, a very rare disease. My mother has systemic scleroderma w Reynaud's. I have occassional Reynaud's in icy conditions....but not Sclero. I do have Ehlers-Danlos III....connective tissue disorder in which tendons become more stretchy and elastic with age...my hips and sometimes shoulders spontaneously dislocate, even during sleep. I'm kind of hoping that since my heart was damaged pretty young, that there isn't enough pumping action to fund the collagen overgrowth that can come w scleroderma.
Sorry to hear you have this Nikki. There are some women on the Rare Diseases discussion group w scleroderma...young mothers with children.
My very best to you,
Jaynie
