Pain and Swelling following Angiogram

0 Recommendations

Hi there. I had an angiogram three days ago and am finding that pain and swelling, as well as bruising increases each day. My bruising isn't bad, but I do have pain and swelling below the cath site, more so at the top of my thigh, towards the inner part of my thigh. I also feel somewhat of a hardness, however, I really can't discern where it begins or ends, or how large it is. The actual cath site looks good, no swelling or lump right beneath it. It's primarily the area right below the site that causes me concern. I've read over and over that some people experience lumps and bruises. I'm not certain about the swelling or puffiness. I do not have a fever and the area isn't warm to the touch.

Has anyone else experienced these sort of symptoms? Is there cause for concern?

Thank you very much.

Pain Bruises Fever

Call your doctor's office right away and let them know what is going on. The pressure in the arteries make it harder for them to seal after an injury - you may have a small leak deep within the tissues, which wouldn't show up as bruising right away, or a clot that is impairing circulation. Only your doctor can determine if there is a serious condition, so please get checked and let us know what you find out!

Thank you. I had an ultrasound of the area today. Waiting to hear from my doc. Still in pain. :(
