Pacemaker Check-up

0 Recommendations

Can someone tell me what usually happens when they check out your pacemaker? Mine was checked for the first time several months ago and again recently. The first time it took several minutes just for the computer to printout all the data collected by the pacemaker and that's what I expected would happen again. But, this time, it didn't take long at all. First the Tech lowered the HB to 30 then raised it to 90+. I just wondered if this is normal.

I'm pacemaker dependent so it's set to work all the time. That's why I didn't like it when the Tech set it to 30; I almost fell off the table. This is only the second time it's been checked...6 months between visits. No remote checking by phone.

mine was quick and easy hooked up showed 11 episodes which happen to be the day my daughter got married hahahah now i have the moniter by my bed too and i have done it once for it to be check will do again in feb.................... just curious they tell me i have 23 seconds for the pacemaker to get my herat back right beofre i am knocked on my rear by the defirillator just wondering how ev1 elses work

I have had my pacemaker for over a year and have it checked every 4 months....one month in the office and the next time I do it on the health monitor which is hooked up by my bedside. I had problems with it for almost a year. I kept having pre-faint or whirling feelings that lasted no more than a few seconds, but was very disconcerting. They finally got it set in September on continuous pacing and it has been perfect ever since. They said it would wear the battery out a year sooner, but that is no problem compared with my whirling.

The first time you have it checked it does take a long time, but I think they are setting you up for future checkups. Do you have a monitor with a link to phone in your checkups?

I feel everything they do when they are resetting and they said this is very unusual...usually people don't have a clue. I guess I am just too sensitive...lol.

Hope this helps....cheers...JOY
