We're getting a new kitty this weekend! Unexpected, a nephew with a stray cat explosion. He's pretty cute-- our nephew says he is funny and happy. Any suggestions for names?

Max is so darn cute! Almost, and I mean almost, makes me want another kitten. But 3 cats and a dog are quite enough thank you!
They keep us busy and entertained and are great companions, aren't they? I can't imagine life without a fur-ball of some kind around-even if it does make wearing black a challenge. ha

I have three cats, Mama Cat, and her two boy kittens; Rascal, and Tigger. Aren't cats wonderful?

Thanks! We are enjoying Max-- he's so much fun--and I need some good basic fun. The heart attack and recovery are unique and difficult experiences. Our son's death five months later turned a difficult experience into a nearly impossible scenario. I am fortunate to have so many great supportive people around.
This community is an important part of my recovery, though I don't post too much. Not much time!
Best Wishes and Thanks to All,
Barbed
Maximus is an AWESOME name!! By the way, Earl Gray comes to his name too. :)
Enjoy Maximus to the MAX!!

And now finally a name--meet Max,Maximus, the wonder cat.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Hope everyone has a lovely day!
my fat cats name is Wendell. He is 15 and has lived thru some rough times. He got beat up by a pit bull and a year or so later a racoon! Dang cat cost me almost a thousand bucks. But we love him and he also comes to his name.

I don't really have any good names, lol I have 4 cats myself and we had to get to know them before they got names. They are Sasha, Spazzy, Cotton and Tiger Thomas. Good luck with your new kitty!!

I vote for Ginger Tom! Then he can become GT which is very very masculine if you remember old cars! ha He is adorable. On second thought, I WANT HIM! ha My DH would disown me!
He's still nameless, poor thing. LOL! My cats always come to "Kitty- Kitty Kitty (Insert name)"-- as long as they're in the mood:-).
The new boy is adorable! All of the cats and the dog follow him around the house. Friendly, happy little fellow.
Dear CatLady5 (by the way, how many cats does it take before we might be described as being one of those 'crazy old cat ladies'?!? My very odd brother-in-law had 21 indoor cats - my children definitely considered their Uncle Pete to be a 'crazy cat lady'!)
Your cats come when they are called? I'm so jealous. Perhaps all my cats have been deaf . . . . ?
XOXOXO
Dear Kennaria,
What do you mean cats don't come when you call their name. I have always had cats and they ALL come when called. If I call BooBoo she comes, if I call Missy she comes and Sam and Crybaby always answer to my call. Crybaby even tells me when one of the other cats is missing. Rocky is the only stubborn one, but we will come too.

Just keep in mind... dogs have owners, cats have staff!!! I always keep one in the back of my mind "PITA" as in pain in the azzzzzzz. Love my babies!!!!
Still nameless, although we are considering the following:
1. Ginger Tom
2. Hellboy
3.Scruffy
4.Dusty
5. Spencer
I think we're waiting for a name epiphany.
Our cats names seem to migrate from one thing to another. We started with Cricket who eventually became Ricky who is now Ricky-Roo! All are stray or homeless cats.
Gracie is a big fat 17# long haired white with a little black who loves to lie with her large abdomen exposed to the world and her four feet splayed out like she was staked down! Not the kind of position a threatened cat would assume.
BJ was from a homeless men's mission, who was Buddy first then we thought that was too Texan and country so we combined it with Jose and he's Buddy Jose. Now called BJ.
It doesn't matter - and by the way, MY cats do usually come when they are called. Maybe we don't feed them enough and they are always hungry! ha

I was thinking of names I have given my many cats over the years. Right now I have snagglepuss and M&M. In the past I have had Rudi, Orange, Samson, Charlie, Jetta (very fast and always into everything) Copper, and Andi. UH OH, I forgot Chub, we got her from a bait shop. Naming the critter is the funnest part. I hope you have many years of enjoyment. Diane
Hell Boy-- like the film?
Orange,fiery and yet very cool.
I think you need to let the cat's personality dictate its name. If he is cool and calm, how about "Dude". Our cat was orange and white and was named Bozo when we adopted him. He looked like Bozo the clown with the orange hair, so we kept it. It was perfect for him.
So do I.
No name yet--we're still getting to know each other. He's very friendly and cool.
Walks up to our dog!
I had Chloe & Zoe (Kitties)
Foxy Roxy (red Pom)
Abbey Normal (lab in the picture)
& the newest addition Snickerdoodle (English setter mix, white with caramel spots)
I love bizarre pet names....
