Lopressor ???

0 Recommendations

Hi,

I came home from hospital on 50mg 3 x's a day, I started to have problems breathing about a month after, not sure why then..... now I am only on 25mg 2 x's per day with much better breathing (I still do notice shallow breathing) My BP has been ok at cardio rehab.
Does anyone else have similar issues? Im not sure why they gave me so much to start off, I hope I am still getting the heart protection of this low mg.

Asthma Beta blockers Atenolol Lopressor

Hi Lynn--
I started with Lopressor after my MI but it made my asthma symptoms much worse so Dr changed to different beta blocker. All beta blockers are rough on those of us with breathing issues but like everything, some hit us worse. Talk to your doctor, maybe one of the others will bother you less. I take atenolol now and it's one of the cheap Rx at the drug store, too.
Good luck,
Becky
