Imdur Headache....

0 Recommendations

Hello-
I am a 32 yo female. My cardiologist prescribed imdur to me for chest pains. I took it last night at 10:15 pm and my headache has not stopped since about 10:20pm (it is now 2:45pm). I have taken tylenol as this is all I can take because I am pregnant. Does anyone have other ideas? I have been attempting to sleep, cold compresses, etc. ANY ADVICE would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Paula

Tylenol Angina Pain Pregnancy Imdur

Hi Paula,

I have been taking Imdur now for about 6 months. I had the bad headache for about 2 weeks after starting the drug and Tylenol seemed to work well for me. It did get better after that first couple of weeks, and I don't get them nearly as often now, though sometimes I will still have one. Fortunately for me, the Tylenol takes care of it. The drug has helped my Angina so much, that I kind of just deal with the annoyance of the HA. This probably didn't help you a whole lot, but I would just say to try to hang in there if you can because it will get better. I do know that some people just cannot take it due to bad headaches, so if it gets intolerable for you, I would recommend visiting with your Cardio about other medication options.

Good luck.

Hi,

I am on Imdur 90 mg. I take it at night due to the headaches and the only time it really bothers me is when I have to get up at night for whatever reason. Otherwise, during the day I'm fine.

I take imdur 30mg. I had the headache for a few days. But it is gone most of the time now. I have always had a tendency for migraine anyway so I have been prescribed Darvacet for that. My dr. said it was ok to take that if I needed to. Usually only need a half tablet for relief.

Hi Paula!
I started taking 30 mg of Imdur and had horrible headaches for about 2 weeks but every day got progressively better. I was bumped up to 60 mg of Imdur and got the headaches again until my body got used to the additional dosage. Tylenol helps but I slept a lot to bypass the pain. I am used to the med now and feel so much better so it is worth riding out the headaches. Also I took the imdur in the morning because it is only good for about 6 to 8 hours per day and my angina is in daytime mostly. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy! :o) J

I take imdure 60mg in the morning and i am relieved to tell you the headaches only happened for the first 2-3 weeks and then after that only if i rushed around too fast and made my blood pump quickly....
