Hahahahaha from the balmy Pacific Coast....

The great thing about Mayo is that most of the 30+ Mayo Clinic buildings are connected via multiple skyways to the hotels and other major buildings all around the downtown core, so it's entirely possible to check into the Marriott and never set foot outdoors into the snow for five days. They've thought of everything - including Rochester's famously brutal winters.

Well, if it wasn't for the fact that I want to take pictures, I might just stay indoors for 5 days.....LOL

So, I might venture outdoors a little bit.....we'll see how brave I get!! ha ha

I know! My husband was joking that it's going to be warmer at oh-dark-thirty when I leave tomorrow morning from sunny NC that it'll be for the next several days where I'm going... I'm restricting myself to carry-on luggage so no room for boots--I hope I'll be able to do the pre-conference early AM walks in the shoes I have, e.g., that there's not any snow on the ground. :)

Did your "big sister" mention that you should have extra room in your suitcase? Mine told me to make sure that I have extra space in my suitcase........

:) LOL.... I always get a kick seeing what others have to say about us Northerner's!
I live about an hour North of Rochester, I know they spoke of possible flurries...I hadn't heard anything about having to break out boots! The really funny thing is most of us haven't even broke out the jackets yet! :)
You ladies enjoy yourselves and the chilly weather, it always makes me remember how great it is to be alive!

True, Chin-up -- you probably get a kick out of us complaining about the cold weather about like we do with people complaining about the 115-degree heat!! I guess we all just get used to our environment -- and I'm definitely not used to the COLD!!! BRRRRRRRR. Plus, we desert-dwellers usually don't have the proper clothing for that kind of cold!!! One thing about it, when you visit AZ, just take off your clothes!!! HA HA HA (ok, most of them....not all!)

Hi all,
Like Chin-up, I live north of Rochester. I often wonder why, especially this time of year. Family, I guess. I figure, you can always put on more layers, but can only take so much off (appropriately, that is!)

Enjoy your trip. I hope to attend next year, too much happening in my personal life this year to put my all into it. Have fun!

Well now that we've been through it and even seen the snow, that wasn't so bad (weather-wise). It was a fantastic few days and it was great meeting you all. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's pictures, as most of mine came out blurry.
