Heart disease Angina

I read the article; one of my local news stations reported this study in their medical report last night. I find it very interesting, especially since women already have smaller vessels than men. So many women here report they have small vessel issues, I have to wonder why they are considered "rare." Now we know it's not so rare, and the doctors are finally starting to listen to women when they say something is wrong. There is still a long way to go, but maybe by getting the word out to doctors and patients both, treatments will get better, and deaths will decrease.

It is so true!! I have this problem and my doctor is one of the ones who considers it to be nothing but a nuisance. That's one of the main reasons I haven't even told him that my symptoms have gotten so much worse. It really is frustrating.

Thanks for the article. I sent it to my husband because I don't think he fully understands my heart problems and he needs to know. Heck, I don't fully understand. I appreciate your posting of this. Thank you!
Colleen

Colleen...you're welcome! I'm hoping that doctors will begin to see that we as women have different issues than our male counterparts. It is so frustrating right now.

My husband actually read it and said it was so interesting. Now, if he would only remember what it says, lol. He doesn't take my heart disease seriously and I worry about that sometimes. He has a titanium heart valve and I think maybe because of that, he doesn't realize how serious this is.
It is frustrating.

Dear Colleen, I'm sorry your husband doesn't take your heart disease seriously...that has got to be rough! Mine is quite the opposite...he is a virtual mother hen with me! (Although I don't really miss making the bed.) My problem is with my cardiologist who "poo-poos" micro vascular disease and calls it a nuisance condition. It sure is a nuisance...for those of us who deal with it! I'll see of he is any better educated on these matters when I see him next March. :-)
Take care!
Carolyn

Carolyn,
I happen to have alot of issues going on at once and my husband is so worried about my gastro issues that I don't think he realizes how serious my heart issue is. I am not much for complaining though, so part of that is probably my fault. I need to let him know more!!
I am going to ask my cardio doc about micro vascular disease when I see him again in January. He never told me that I had it, just the Prinzmetals angina, but he did say I had really tiny arteries, so I am assuming I probably do have it.
A nuisance condition - your doc should be shot! I sometimes wonder if these doctors went through what we go through, would they change their attitudes? Any chance of you getting a different cardio?

Dear Colleen, there are other docs at the Heart Clinic, but we are already on a payment plan with my current one, and he seems willing to work with me (somewhat), even though I am uninsured.
Please do share with your husband...he is your partner and I hope, will be supportive of you, and do let us all know what your doctor says about Micro Vascular disease. I know how difficult it is to deal with. Stay well!
Carolyn

HI Carolyn,
I am glad you are on a payment plan, that has to be a relief. So many doctors won't do that but that is to their detriment as most people will pay if there is a way to do so!
Having lots of spams this last week but that is usually the case, then I will be good for a few weeks. I just hate having them though. Very very tired!!
Hope you have a good week,
Colleen
