Heart Murmurs

0 Recommendations

In 2005 I went to Oregon to watch my grandtwins while my daughter gave birth to a baby girl. I ended up in the hospital for heart surgery. I knew I had a heart murmur, but not that it was a rare things these days. I woke up to find 12 medical students, all with stethoscopes listening to my heart. WOW!

Hi Jan,

I read you information and see you are a 28 year breast cancer survivor. Is you heart failure due to the radiation and chemo? I ask because I just had breast cancer surgery and will be starting radiation soon.

What happened that you ended up with surgery?

Warm Regards,

Rose

Yes, that's what the cardiologist said. I always thought the cancer would come back . . . not so! My heart surgeon installed a new aortic valve (mechanical), sewed up two holesin my heart and did one bypass. However, you know, the bottom line is, you do what you have to do when you have to do it. I had a child to raise so the good Lord and I had a talk, I really didn't have time to die. Guess he listened. Best wishes to you, keep your thoughts and deeds positive, that's a big part of it.

I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you, I have congestive heart failure.

Welcome - we are in the same boat. I too had breast cancer not once but twice and now I now have profound CHF. I always had a heart mumur and a right branch block, but they did radiation and chemo anyway. Now I have a left branch block along with a Biventricular device keeping my heart ticking.
