flying with leaky heart valve

today i found out that i have a linky valve..and i have to have surgery..well i'm scared..now i have to fly to maine sunday..i need to know if it's safe..the doctor who told me this is he can't say if i could..the heart doctor wasn't there ..so do any of you ladies have this problem..if so can i fly sunday..will it be safe
