I am so sick of Chicken/Turkey..........I Really Dislike Fish...........and have sworn off beef and gave up my shrimp. If I see another salad.........well..............

I've come to enjoy boca burgers ..;;....my chili now has ground turkey.......the grillin is for chicken.........even my spaghetti and lasagne are "turkeyed"or meatless.
A plate of just veggies is satisfying too...........when really tired......oatmeal with raisins.....mmmmm.

Anyone care to share a favorite???? Variety from you fine ladies would be so appreciated.

Open for any and all suggestions................Thanks!!

That's it for me. Thanks. I have been thinking about this food thing also.

I know....what happens when you get sick of the same ole same ole after thirty years of cooking, all I want to do is go out to eat...too bad we are not all Alice Waters in Berkeley...ha

here is a link for Alice Waters

She might suggest however to try the seasonal "whole" live foods that taste so good and throw them into familiar dishes. Fava Beans are lucious, though their season may be passing...

Proteins have limitations for exciting moments once I tire of chicken and turkey, but pork is good if cooked correctly, chops etc, the bacon variety is well you know....

I like to order tofu when I am out that is slightly braised not fried cooked just enough to make the skin crunchy and soft in the middle...emmmm

But mostly, it salads salads and salads, that I am bored with...suggestions?

Not sure this helped, but it more the line of thinking that can help.....rather than the specifics.

Also, I needed to spruce up the quality of intake of my menu also, so a friend and I decided to buy the book, Good Calories Bad Calories...I'll let you know how it goes. Think it is just a repackaging of the old information, like don't eat the carbs which in my day was called "starch" and I am still a big believer in the portion control....4 oz for most everything on the plate...or if it doesn't fit into the palm of your hand then it is too much food for one sitting.

happy cooking...

There is a wonderful cookbook out there for ideas. It's called 200 recipes under 200 calories. Now even if you go "overbored" you can try more than one dish. I really found it helpful.

When fowl becomes foul and fish smells fishy, I opt for veggie stir-fry with steamed long grain brown rice and mushrooms.
When I'm really sick of the same ole same ole I head for the porridge pot to. (That's oatmeal to you Westerners and non celtic types). Showing my East Coast Celtic background here, but I have to say that porridge with a drizzle of molasses is one popular comfort food.

Take care and be blest --- Gloria ---
