Drug Interaction Question

My rheumatolgist wanted me to use Lidoderm patches or Flector patches for pain. Has anyone ever heard of them and/or any reason NOT to use them. Again, the warning say if you have heart or kidneys problem let your doctor know. I have both and he knows. But I've discovered in the past, that doesn't mean much. They could have killed me more than once. I intend to ask the cardiologist and my kidney doctor before I use them. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with them.

My 17 year old daughter uses Flector patches for pain from fibromyalgia, RA and other random aches and pains. They were prescribed by our GP when her pain was not responding to other standard treatments. She seems to get a lot of relief from them. To our knowledge, she has no known cardiac or kidney issues. She has had no problems from the patches, other than some itching and redness where she places them. She also has psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema, so I think that reaction is to be expected. She has started putting lotion on the area where she is going to apply the patch about an hour before she puts it on and that has helped alot.

I too use the patch's and take lots of other meds for my pain. and I don't have any interaction's. But once someone said I have the (excuse)gutt's of a horse. Most things don't bother me. But once and it made me sleep all the time. no pain but couldn't stay up at all in bed day and night. But I can't remember what it was it was a little green and black pill. If you need sleep get them. I'll look at my folder and see just what it was it took the pain away but put me right out. But now I take 750 vik's every four hours and Nap500 twice aday and they don't make me sleepie at all. I own my own beauty shop and work 6 days aweek

the best site that i have ever found that puts all interactions (or not) in a single nutshell for you is
iguard.org. you simply list all of your meds that you're on and it does all the work for you.

My Dad has very bad heart disease and he uses the Lidoderm patches for his back, and he does well with them. He doesn't make out real well with pain meds, they make him really spaced out.

My Aunt uses Lidoderm patches for her pain from shingles. She has had fabulous success with no problems. You wear them for 12 hours than take them off. You should give them a try.
