CT Angiogram for stress test?

0 Recommendations

Hello All,

I had a question concerning the above mentioned test. My docs have scheduled me for one and said to expect this to take about 4 hours. I was under the impression that a CT scan was rather fast and my docs aren't really giving me alot of info right now on this procedure. Has anyone had this done or heard of this being done as a stress test? Thanks!
Tanya

Not doubting you, but are you sure it's a ct? I just had a nuclear stress test. They injected an isotope and do some pictures...much like a ct scan. Then you do the treadmill and another isotope and more pictures. It took about 4 hours with all the waiting. The ct part was only 11 minutes each time.

You need clarification from your doctor on this. I had CT angiogram and it took about 20 minutes. There was no excercise involved.

that sounds like the thallium stress test i would most def ask what test they are giving you always

This is a great opportunity and a reminder to ALL of us to ASK QUESTIONS. Never leave your doctor's office or have a procedure booked unless you are completely informed about what's going on. Our bodies are far too important for us not to be as well-educated as possible about every single test and procedure. Knowledge is power. Instead of saying 'my doc's not giving me info' - it's more accurate to say: 'I'm not asking my doc enough questions to ease my mind'.

When in doubt, pick up the phone and double-check!

XOXOXO
