From Yale, Chief of cardiothoracic surgery:
"Coumadin is what we call teratogenic, or damaging to the fetus...in fact, highly so. It is simply not appropriate to take Coumadin during a pregnancy, especially during the earlier phases."
The recommended alternative for pregnancy duration is aspirin or heparin (must be injected daily like insulin)
