From Yale, Chief of cardiothoracic surgery:
"Coumadin is what we call teratogenic, or damaging to the fetus...in fact, highly so. It is simply not appropriate to take Coumadin during a pregnancy, especially during the earlier phases."
The recommended alternative for pregnancy duration is aspirin or heparin (must be injected daily like insulin)
In my circles, coumadin is known as rat poison. I heard this back in the mid 90's. Check it out. In fact just yesteday I heard it again on one of my favorite health shows.

You are right Kathi,
There was a supercumadin that was used as a way to get rid of rodent infestations...It caused them to bleed to death internally but not before they carried the 'rat poisoned food back to their nests and the whole rodent community would be wiped out. This has been banned for years because it is too easy for pets to ingest dying rodents and die themselves.

The human approved version is less powerful but still a potent blood thinner.
Atacand is also a BIG 'no-no' for pregnant women...at least that's what my Drs tell me.
