What does it mean when you have 80% blocked right artery? How is this fix
They do not always use the groin, mine was in the wrist and you don't have to lay flat after that. Besides, they do not always stent blockages, there is another approach of just using medications to control the disease. Your heart can grow collateral arteries around the blockage. If you have a blockage it means you have coronary artery disease. You will need to change your diet and lifestyle and more than likely take medications. Controlling the cholesterol that built that blockage in the first place is a big factor and you will need to be consistent with exercise. Your doctor will be the one to guide you through this process and there are many knowledgeable people here that can offer their wisdom. Finding a blockage before a heart attack is really, really lucky even though it might not seem so at the time. Best of luck to you.
I'm getting the impression from your other post that you're not referring to coronary arteries... you just say an "80% blocked right artery". There are a number of "right arteries" in the body... since your other post mentions plans for an aorto-fem bypass, then you would be speaking of an 80% blocked right femoral artery.
Hello
I know that most doctors do not believe in anything other than the medications they prescribe. For one because that is what they are trained for and it is something they feel they are protected against since fda has gave them approval for what ever they are doing. It a safe path for them with results somewhat successful perhaps. Of coarse as with other things in life there are options to pretty much everything. One of the things I have found out is vitamin C and other nutrients to combat the problem related to cardio vascular disease. Many may or may not know about Linus Pauling and his formula of high doses of vitamin C and lysine. There have been added other nutrients to it for better effect. There are many people who have great results with it. Sure you have to have a lot of failures or just purely be open to other than just what you hear from the medical doc prescribing all those different medications. If you like to find out more go to vitamin C foundation dot org . Also Dr Levy has done a lot of work on CVD.Then there is a gentleman who has beat the CVD after being beat up with stents and medications which did not work for him. A Patented Heart Disease Cure on youtube will tell you more about him. Here is the link if they let it show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMhfO204i3Y
So be open minded to other solutions
Good luck,

My sister just had a 90% blocked artery.....
They do an angiogram- run a catheter up from your groin and it shows on the
screen the blockage or if there are others... If they find a manageable blockage
they use that same catheter to put in stent(s), those might be mesh on one or
two sides of the artery to keep it open. If you have multiple blockages they
may do heart bypass surgery.
My sister had two stents in the same artery to keep it open so the blood can
flow through. She said the procedure itself was a 'piece of cake'. She was
seeing multi colored flight baloons and thought of telling them but then thought better of
it lol. She was awake but not if you get what I mean.
Afte the procedure you have to lay flat on your back for 5 or 6 hours. You're not
even suppose to lift your head off the pillow.
MAKE SURE that a nurse is checking your groin area OFTEN! My sister's groin spot
where they put the catheter in was bleeding and the nurses were on top of it and
called the doc from ER to come and put pressure on the spot for half hour to stop
the bleeding. If it seems like there is a nursing shortage have a relative stay with
you.....they just need to feel around the area once inawhile and if you say 'Ouch!',
have them go get a nurse, but my guess is that your nurses will be on the ball
and checking.
Best to you
