Hi, I'm new to the site.
I have congenital AS, it has largely been asymptomatic, while maturing slightly each year, until recently it has been considered moderate/mild.
Last year at my annual check up I spoke with my cardiologist about pregnancy and he felt there would be no problem. I have just been for my check up and am 10 weeks pregnant, however my valve had now narrowed from 44/100 to 66/100 which is alot compared to normal. My cardiologist is concerned by this as he wouldn't expect this for another 6 weeks, he thinks that I may need to use beta blockers/diuretics he is also talking about early delivery possibly by c-section if it is far from my due date, if not induction but with assisted birth to keep the pushing phase short.
This has taken me by suprise, I know it is getting worse and eventually I will need surgery, but I have been very lucky so far.
I'm just wondering if there is anyone else who has been in a similar situation?

I am so sorry you are going through this. Pregnancy should be a time of excitement and anticipation. It is to easy to face it with a heart condition.i have not experienced that, but I did have allergic hepatitis when I was pregnant with my first. It was pretty serious, it was because of a drug I was taking and I was only the eighth person to get it, so they did not think I could carry the baby. They figured my baby would have severe disability and they advised me to terminate. They had one pregnant person who had the reaction before and she lost the baby and had to have a liver transplant. Of the thirty two people who had the reaction to the drug, only 13 survived, and some of them had to have transplants. I decided I would have my baby. He is 31 now, 6'3" and academically gifted. So have hope, they
don't know everything. Take good care of yourself and try not to place too much stress on yourself. Wishing you a successful pregnancy.
