American Heart Association - Only Cardiovascular?

0 Recommendations

I was just on the American Heart Association's website trying to figure out what I could do to help with the organization at a local level. Is it just my interpretation or is their focus only on cardiovascular issues instead of heart disease in general. Very frustrating to those of us whose issues aren't vascular. I feel like I don't have a voice.

You know I was wondering if they had Conferences or symposiums for the patients and doctors and I could not find anything like that on their site.

I have learned so much about the heart over the last few months that I want to learn more and physically interact with others like myself at a organized function .I am planning on going to that Luncheon next year in downtown Detroit. I am only about and 45+ minute drive from there.

I am not positive but I think cardiovascular includes heart disease because cardiovascular pertains to the heart and blood vessels. However, I wish the AHA would hire someone who knows how to do PR like the PR PINK receives.

Hi Heart Sisters,
I live in Michigan and would like to get involved. Can anyone give me information on the luncheon to be held in Detroit in the spring. I have severe coronary disease. Have had two heart attacks, quad bypass, aortic dissection and three stents. Would like to meet others with cardiac issues. We need to promote awareness of Women's Heart issues. Go RED.
