I apologize but I have posted before, but I have more questions. So I am posting my discussion again and hope to see if you can again help me.
I have been having irregular everything since last year. Finally, I went to the gyn b/c of long, extremely heavy periods, all kinds of irregular discharge (clear with blood, white, etc.) , pelvic and abdominal pain, etc. She sent me to GI b/c of new reflux, constipation, etc. After every -oscopy test he found nothing other than one polyp and inflammation in the stomach) and said go back to gyn. They found I was severly anemic and severly B12 deficient I am now taking prescriptions for both that aren't helping and now will have to get shots for B12. Obviously this is due to blood loss from these monstrous periods and intermittent bleeding. The gyn did u/s March 15 and found enlarged, irregular shaped R. ovary and mass in lining of uterus. Follow-up u/s on April 15 found cysts in both ovaries, still enlarged R. ovary with cyst and mass in uterus is growing along with 5mm fibroid. Third follow-up u/s on June 2 found enlarged R. ovary with 3cm cyst and uterus still has mass now growing into myometrium. the fibroid has grown to 20mm with a new fibroid already at 13mm. I know this is horrible, but to show you what I'm going through, I went through 20 t*pns the first day of my cycle in July. And then out of nowhere, this month, I hardly even spotted for five days. I'm just wondering if there's more in store for later. I've never gotten "out" of a period before. Has anyone experienced this or known someone who has? I am a little concerned b/c my grandmother was diagnosed at 32 with endometrial cancer and later passed away from this disease. I also have two aunts that were dx with endometrial cancer. My mother has had cancerous polyps removed for the past couple of years now from her colon and had to have a hyst. due to complete prolapse(?) of uterus (it was basically just falling out). The gyn said the sonographer suggested I had possible adenomyosis(she noted it on the report with a question mark beside it), but I'm concerned that it may be cancer? It seemed she wasn't sure what it was. My gyn seems to only want to do the ablation, as a matter of fact she's asked me three times. But my aunt who's a OR nurse said she asked one of her drs. (from a different hospital affiliation) said I needed it taken out. I just am at a crossroads here. I don't know whether to push for more, even if it means changing hospital affiliation, or just sit back and not do anything. The only thing that is scaring me is that this stuff seems to be growing pretty fast. I'm almost afraid to go back for what it may be now. If I do push, what do I push for? Has anyone heard of getting better results at a university hospital based dr? Any suggestions, comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.
