INSANE itching

Hi everyone! I thought I'd post this to see if anyone else has had experience with this as I am really suffering! I have started itching horribly all over my body and especially on my calves. I remember having this when my liver stats were not so good and the doc telling me it was my liver. I am also 17 weeks pregnant. It is not pregnancy related (not PUPP or ICP). All my liver stats look great - the only thing is that my zinc is twice what it was 4 weeks ago. Has anyone had this experience?

I am also pregnant now, 17 weeks. i itch on my upper body, waist up. But doc told me from pregnancy--the hormones make my skin dry. Buttt pre-preg I remember my calves itching and it was usually when i had either too much of the meds or not enough.

Has your OB ruled out PUPPS? I have also heard that your liver can be "irritated" and not always show up on the liver function tests. I'm not sure if the excess zinc can cause this. What does your WD doctor say? Are you taking OTC zinc or galzin?

I have also heard that itching can be common in pregnancy because of all the extra hormones that we have running through our body can cause dry skin. Does lotion help?

Sorry I didn't follow up on this. Turns out the itching was cholestasis and I am being treated with Ursodiol. My bile salts are down and I am stable with normal LFT's. PUPPPS has a rash and I did not have a rash. All is well now - the itching is under control for now. Thanks.
