My son did have some rejection. We knew it pretty much because of his labs being so bad. What a rough month August was! We went to Mayo for his 1 year post transplant check up and they did a biopsy - it showed rejection. He did 3 infusion treatments and we went back to Mayo for another biopsy Monday morning. That one showed signs of improvement, but that his liver is still a bit enlarged and his liver enzymes are still elevated - but going down. They increased his prograf and put him on Cellcept again and they will have him do labs in 2 weeks. They think he will get through this just fine, but I really hope all is well - he just returned to college - his first day was yesterday. I hated him leaving - he ended up getting a cold just before he left - I am sure the steroids helped that along too - but at least it helped his liver. We are awaiting results of my daughters 24 hour urine copper test from Monday - still waiting for her levels to come down low enough to switch to zinc. Waiting...wondering....hopeing....praying..... It is so sad to see them leave in different directions for college. It is great they are going, I just wish they both had better health. In time.....
