Dear Mom 61,

I am a WD patient since the last 25 yrs. Though I try to remain happy but still sometimes I suffer from so much depression. Reasons include not only disease but lonliness, hign exps. due to treatment, the wicked world most of which I think has no passion or thoughtfulness. I don't take any meds for depression and though I am in thinking process all the time, I don't hear voices.
Best wishes!

thank you for responding, but I have to ask you, is there a reason that you don't take meds for depression? I'm just curious

Dear Mom61,

I don't take any medicine for depression because I am already taking a lot of medicines for WD and GE related problems (10 a day) and sometimes I feel like my tummy has become a medical store. Also, I prefer to bear all the tensions instead of taking any treatment. I am not saying that every one should do that. One should definitely consult a Doc and take medicines if prescribed. I know that WD and related problems will be with me for ever(perhapes). I have accepted it and now treats WD like a buddy (though I would definitely like to get rid of this buddy, if possible some time-ha -ha). I think I have got a very strong will power and until depression becomes too-too much to be harmful for me, I don't want to take any treatment for depression. For my service, I have to live all alone in New Delhi, the capital of India. I am not married so far and I am supporting myself all on my own. I think you will understand, how strong I would have to be for coping with all this and I think every patient of WD and his/her family is also very very courageous and fighing with the odds bravely.
Regards and best wishes!

hi,
i am doing m phil in clinical psychology. and also taking medication for WD. You reported that your daughter is taking medication for WD and for depression. At times there are psychiatric manifestation in WD, and hearing voices may be one of the associated feature of her depression. It is better to consult any psychiatrist immediately who can help your daughter.
Regards
