Affordable Medical Insurance?

0 Recommendations

I'm almost 20 years old and my boyfriend and I are seriously considering getting married next summer. The only thing that is really holding me back right now is losing the insurance I have for my medical. I am currently on my father's insurance which is probably the best insurance there is as he's in the military. So my question for you guys is, if you know of any insurance out there that would be affordable for us when we get married? What kind of plans you have? etc. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.

My advice would be to not get married at the age of 20 and without a good job that provides you with good medical insurance. There is no rush to get married....if you're meant to be together, you'll be together when you're a few years older and have maybe a degree that you can get a good job with, etc...Then get married. If you have insurance through your dad, I wouldn't throw that away and run the risk of having no insurance.

Excellent advice, Melissa.

I agree that you should choose the path that allows you to keep the best medical insurance that you can possibly have...and don't rush into marriage SO YOUNG! Take it slowly.

Just don't get married yet. I do not have any medical insurance right now and it is awful!!! I would wait until you get a good job that has good benefits!
