HELLO ALL,

I AM MOM JUST LIKE MANY OTHERS HERE I AM SURE.
MY PROBLEM IS NOT THAT I AM A MOM. IS THAT I NEED TO LOOSE WEIGHT AND I DO NOT HAVE THE MOTIVATION TO START. I EAT AND EAT LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW. I AM NOT EVEN HUNGRY MOST OF THE TIMES I EAT. I JUST FOR NO REASON AND WITH A REASON TOO. I WEIGHT 225LBS I AM A SIZE 16 I WAS NOT LIKE THIS. WHAT CAN I DO?
ANY TIPS OR SUGGESTIONS.

Hi Claudia30xx! I have just started on this journey, too. I'm a mom of 3 girls, 21,15 and 9. I go thru the samethings. I know what to do, but don't feel motivated to do them. I remember being in my 20's, being 130 lbs- but that was 130 lbs ago, a whole nother me! I think you are on the right track. I've never tried one of these support sites before, but it's starting to feel like a good idea. My suggestion is keep checking in, keep looking at the other stories, keep remembering when you felt the best in your entire life. I'm down 40 pounds from my heaviest ever, I lost that much by journaling my food, which I quit doing. I need to be motivated- maybe you will be the inspiration for me, too! I know how you feel! I have 3 children 11, 8 & 2 and ballooned up almost a 100 lbs from where I used to be. I would love to be healthy and be able to climb a flight of stairs without being winded! I just started this week and like noexcuse09 I've never tried a online support system but I really do like it. I always tried to do it myself but it never worked and I felt worse than when I started out.
noexcuse09 ~ that is so awesome that you lost 40 pounds. Hopefully we can pull together and we can all acheive our goal!
I refuse to call this a diet. It's a lifestyle change for me. I just try and remember to eat good things and I do cheat but I just keep moving forward.

I am new at this too. I think there are several of us just starting out and that is great! Maybe some of the members who have been doing it for a while can help us out too. I was talking with my health coach last week and one thing she suggested was maybe try eating good all day but allow yourself one not healthy thing a day so you don't feel so deprived of the things you love. Also, I told her that the whole produce isle and health food isle just scares me to death. There are so many foods out there I don't know what they are or how to fix them so it's really hard to start. She suggested just trying one new thing from the produce isle every time I go shopping. So if you go once a week to do your shopping, just pick one thing new and find out how to fix it and include it with one of your meals. I am planning on trying that tomorrow when I go shopping. My first item is going to be hummus! I don't know what it is, but I keep seeing it in recipes so that's going to be my first try (if I can find it!) Good luck! It's great to have all this new support!

I just went grocery shopping last night and bought turkey bacon. My brother and my Mom swear by it but it looks so funky! Oh well, that is my "new" item of the week. I'll keep you posted on if it tastes like bacon. Fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone for ur replies. Now I have learned that I have diabetis type 2. I have to pinch myself every 2 hours. This is all new to me. If I loose weight my doctor said it will probably go away. For the past 2 weeks I have been eating lots of veggies, white meat and very little carbs. Hopefully I will stop being lazy and get up and do dome excersice.
