Hypothyroid, 40s and weight loss challenged!

0 Recommendations

Hi all! Wanted to see if anyone else out there is experiencing what I am and offer support to each other! I am a 42 year old female and hypothyroid. Even though my ranges are ok on labs I still have a hard time losing weight and try everything! Very frustrating once I hit 40 and my hypothyroidism kicked in I immediately couldn't lose weight! ugh!

Tossing out to see if anyone else is in the same boat! And wish everyone luck in their journey for wellness!

I totally understand I am 48 and have the same problem...plus I am diabetic, with severe back issues. I joined weight watchers and followed the plan faithfully and each week all I would drop would be maybe a half a pound or a quarter of a pound...this went on for two months and I became discouraged and stopped going. When I was in my 20's I went and dropped 11 pounds in one week and 2 to 5 pounds a week....I guess I expected the same results.

Don't get discouraged...I still follow a good food program and I excerise at least 3 to 4 times a week for 20 to 30 minutes depending on how my back is acting on any given day...Lol. I know I can't go backwards...gaining weight is not an option...so i just push forward each day...You can do it too...don't be defined by the number on the scale...instead go by how good you are feeling by doing something positive for yourself....the weight will come off ....even if it is slowly.

I wish you much success and remember you are not alone...
