Mayo Clinic, trip #4, April 6, 2008.
And We’re off…6:00am. I love my TV but when things don’t go well with the dvd player when you’re in a hurry things just don’t end well. I didn’t get to set it for American Idol (me being a singer and all I can appreciate the talent) or for Survivor (which I use as an outlet for my aggression, I talk to the TV and cuss them out for being stupid). Oh we, life is short and I am not going to worry about that when there are bigger fish to fry…(pun intended!)
Yum, yum. McD’s for breakfast :.(. not long after this guess who had to stop for a pee break? Ralph. Again. And he felt he needed another coffee too. If coffee where money he would be peeing pennies!
Now we conveniently need gas just in time for you know who to go you know what again. Maybe it’s his prostate or something. (just kidding, he’s healthy as a horse, thank God!) Man, 3.49 per gallon. I hate to think what the prices will be the further we go West! Also I can’t believe how much the tolls have gone up since the last time we were thru here 2 months ago!
The further we go the more tired and blurry my eyes are. I have shut them for about ½ hr but it doesn’t really help much. My cough is tight in my chest and I probably had 1 cup of coffee too many this morning, though I’m not sure what the caffeine does to the sarcoid symptoms. It’s about 11:00 our time which is 1 hr. ahead of Mayo time. This trip, it seems, is taking longer, maybe due to the increased prednisone symptoms that my GP put me on for 5 days due to the bronchitis, (or the sun streaming in on me and the constant rumble of the tires on the cracks in the pavement, yes, let’s say that!)
So we stopped at the Tanger Outlet in Wis Dells, WI. What a joke. Outlet stores are supposed to better prices than the store prices. These were the same or higher than our Stores back home. Outlet store, I think not. Tourist trap, I think so! (Though I did find a rocking pair of Free Spirit black dress shoes with rubber souls for my hardwood floors at church). Sorry MTP, they didn’t have any shoes like our blue ones. Most of them were 60.00!
I believe we are ready for lunch. 2:20 pm. It certainly is a highlight to be able to eat out. Poor Ralph he didn’t get to the Hardee’s because the bridge was out. His mouth was watering for 75 miles waiting for this exit and the bridge was out. I didn’t really care only that it stressed him out a bit.
We have arrived! 3:30 their time. The first thing we did was unload the car and we both laid down on the king bed and just let go! I think we both got motion sickness or something. Ralph never does and he was having a hard time just before we stopped for lunch. Dizzy and a bit disoriented. Not like him at all. He is under some stress at work.
Forty five min. later he is ready to head out to Farm and Fleet! Is he nuts? Yup. Just let me lie here! I think my worst symptom is the tired, blurry eyes and I think it’s from the prednisone. I cant hardly keep them open or focused.
